FOTD w/ Urban Decay Naked Pallet, Wet 'n Wild LE Pallet in Daring Downtown, Loreal Infallible in Gold Imperial, and Jordana Color Effects Eyeshadow in Green

2:17 PM

Playing around with green and gold today.  One of my favorite drugstore greens is Jordana Color Effects Eyeshadow in Green, which is truly one of the "greenest" eyeshadows I own.  It wears like iron when over a primer, and has a nice brightening shimmer. I love finding little gems like these in the drug store!

For the look, here is what I used:

Face:
Laura Geller Spackle
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer - Light
Laura Geller Balance 'n Brighten - Fair

Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay Naked Pallet - Buck - blended into crease
Wet 'n Wild LE Pallet in Daring Downtown (Black shade) - cut crease blended into Buck
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy - lid (not above crease)
Jordana Green - lid / lower lashline
Loreal Infallible "Gold Imperial" - inner corner
Urban Decay Naked Pallet - Sin - lightly blended into highlight
Physicians Formula Gel Eyeliner - black
Younique 3D Moodstruck Fiber lashes - mascara

I almost forgot I found this lovely Wet 'n Wild on sale for 50% off during the CVS Beauty sale, which is what I am wearing in the pic above.

FOTD: Fyrinnae's Red Panda, Arcane Magic Pyromontic Erotica, and STFU

11:58 AM

It's been a long time since I've posted a look I've really enjoyed creating and wearing.  Not only have I just not had the time over the past several months to really spend playing around with my makeup, but I just haven't really been motivated to.  Well, thanks to my son, I am.  He had his toy dump truck full of my Fyrinnae eyeshadows, which he had decided to "excavate" from my makeup drawers, so I took a look and grabbed these three to play with this morning: STFU, Red Panda and Arcane Magic Pyromontic Erotica.

The first picture is probably the best of the entire look.  It's take in natural light, no flash, and you really see the transitions in colors.  The purple eyeliner also really stands out in the picture above, where it's difficult to differentiate in the pictures below.  Regardless, this look reminds me of a beautiful summer sunset, and I'm glad I finally got back to being inspired with my makeup!  I almost forgot how much I enjoy creating these looks.

For the FOTD, here is what I did/used:

Face:
Laura Geller Champagne Spackle - primer
Laura Geller "Real Deal" Concealer - Light
Laura Geller Balance 'n Brighten Foundation
Mally Bronzer - light - to contour
Mally Poreless Airbrush Blush - Afterglow and Purelight

Eyes:
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy - all over lid
Fyrinnae Arcane Magic Pyromontic Erotica - inner corner, and blended ontop of crease
Fyrinnae Red Panda - middle of lid
Fyrinnae STFU - outer crease, blended into the Arcane magic in the middle of crease
NYX candy Glitter Eyeliner - Lavender - ontop of Essence Berlin Rocks

Lips:
Revlon Lip Butter - Candy Apple

Thanks for looking!

Swatches & Review: Jordana Easyshine Lip Color "Sugar Cookie"

11:15 AM

I had very minimal exposure to Jordana Cosmetics until Walgreens revamped their set up and put an entire permenant display in their cosmetics department.  Until then there was a little rack with eyeliners and lip liners that I would pick up every once in a while.  You can see what I have purchased and reviewed here.  Actually, some of my most used items are the Glitter Rocks Retractable Eyeliners I swatched and reviewed here, and I got those on clearance for $0.62 a piece!

Now that there is a display at Walgreens, I took a look at the other offerings from Jordana and picked up one of their Easyshine Lip Colors to try out.  There are six colors on the display, and I picked up Sugar Cookie, which is a warm, reddish brown cream - no shimmer here.

Actually, if you head on over to the Jordana website, you can see all of the different colors here.  The website also has a handy key to tell you what the finish is for each of the colors.

Not only did I mangle the top of the lip color with the lid when I opened it, but my flash totally washed out the color in the tube.  It is a much deeper shade, with more brown undertones.  This is a smaller stick of color too, similar to the size of the Carmex I reviewed earlier this week.

Swatched on the lips, this is my lips but better.  The shine is unbelievable, and unfortunately my camera did not capture this either.  It reminds me of a the shine you get from a liquid lipgloss in a tube.  Definitely an easy color, it adds a hint of warm red shine, without being over the top.  This is a very slick, non-sticky gloss.  Lasting strength is minimal at best, especially if you have to talk alot during the day.  There is a slight fragrance, sort of a warm vanilla sugar (hence the name), and it is also sweet to the taste.

At $1.99 this is a nice little thing to keep in your desk drawer or purse when you don't want lipstick on.  It doesn't tout any benefits (i.e. Vitamin E, aiding or healing chapped lips, etc), but it does feel nice on.  These would also be nice for the younger girls that are asking for some lipgloss or lipstick...maybe a stocking stuffer or two from Santa?

Essie

Is your Walgreens being remodeled?

11:18 AM

It seems like all three Walgreens in my area are going through an intense remodel.  I went in the store closest to my office the other day, and they were about 75% done, and lucky for me, the portion that was complete is the Health and Beauty department, so I took a couple of pictures to show you what you have to look forward to!
First off, they are putting a big, light up end cap at the front of the Health and Beauty department.  This particular store displayed the entire Essie nailpolish collection, and also had the permanent display within the beauty department.  The other side of the display had some seasonal display pieces (i.e. the Revlon Expressionists collection, etc).

Also, for those of you who don't have a full-fledged Jordana selection in your local drug stores, if you happen to have a Walgreens that is remodeling, they are getting a whole section in the Beauty section.  I really love their pencil eyeliners, especially for the price.  I've done a few reviews of their products here, so you can browse through the pictures.

I also saw quite a few new hair and body care lines in the Health and Beauty department as well.  I wasn't able to snap pictures of those unfortunately.

Also, if you check out the little clearance spots at the ends of aisles, you'll most likely find a lot of newer products on clearance.  I found some new Maybelline blushes, Revlon nail polishes and some eyeshadows, which I'll post pictures of here shortly!  The best part - the blushes rang up $0.87 because they were BOGO50%!  It is definitely worth checking out!

Eyeliners

Jordana Glitter Rocks Retractable Eyeliners: Rockabilly Brown, Glam Rocks Green, and Punk Rock Purple

10:29 AM

In my opinion, one of the hidden gems of the drugstore word is Jordana.  In my world, I find it at Walgreens, but if you don't have Jordana available around you, it is available online here.  While paroozing through the store the other day, I noticed some bright orange "Clearance" stickers on some of the eyeliners, so I picked them up - Jordana Glitter Rocks Retractable Eyeliners.

These are retractable eyeliners, which I really like.  Not only are they a fine-tip, but I don't have to dig around for a sharpener since they are retractable - talk about a plus!

The product itself (for all three) are rich, creamy, and extremely pigmented.  Rockabilly Brown is a bright copper - think that of a brand new penny.  Glam Rocks Green is a frosty evergreen, but brightened up by a hint of teal.  Punk Rock Purple is a bright, royal purple and even a bit cool because of a blue base to it.  All three have silver microglitter throughout.

I wore the Rockabilly Brown without any smearing or smudging through the day.  I'd say that pretty darn good, especially since these aren't advertised as long wearing, or smudgeproof.

What's the best part of the entire deal, though?  Take a look at that picture below - $0.62 a piece!!  Really, under $1 for a stellar liner in a variety of shades?  Now that will make any girl happy!  Hurry on over to your Walgreens before these are all gone, and the new products are put in place.  You won't regret it!

Have you tried these, or snagged any other good deals on these clearance items from Jordana?  For some other Jordana items I've reviewed, take a look here

EOTD Picture Tutorial: MAC Venomous Villains, Jordana Green, and Milani Lilly White **PIC HEAVY**

11:26 AM

About a month ago, I posted a look I did using MAC's Venomous Villains "She Who Dares, Jordana "Green" and Milani's "Lilly White" and received several requests for a tutorial.  I'm not quite savvy enough to do a video tutorial, so instead I have created a picture by picture tutorial below.  I hope this helps!  Let me know if you have any questions!

I started out with a clean face, no foundation or anything.  I typically don't do this unless I am using an eyeshadow that is very dark and that tends to have fall out, which "She Who Dares" manages to do.  Because of this, I can easily clean away any of the fall out without having it ruin my concealer and foundation.

Step 1:  Apply a thin layer of Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy all over lid.

Step 2:  Using e.l.f. Contour Brush, apply Jordana "Green" to inner corner of lid, all the way out about 3/4 of the way.

Step 3:  Using the same e.l.f. contour brush, apply MAC's Venomous Villains "She Who Dares" to outer corner, and blend up into crease approximately halfway.

Step 4:  Using e.l.f. Professional Eyeshadow brush, apply Milani "Lilly White" across highlight, and blend down into crease.  I also use this brush to soften the edges of the Jordana and MAC shadows.

Step 5:  Using your favorite black liquid eyeliner (I used Mary Kate & Ashley "Onyx"), apply a winged line across the top lash line.  Add your foundation, blush, and finish with your favorite mascara and you're done!

Hopefully this helps!  Add a little gold to this look and it would be beautiful for the holidays!

EOTD: MAC Venomous Villains "She Who Dares", Jordana "Green", and Milani "Lilly White"

2:18 PM

Just a quick, but dramatic, EOTD using MAC Venomous Villains "She Who Dares" - the green/black side.  I have been loving this product, especially since I discovered how gorgeous it is over Pixie Epoxy!    One of my other favorites - Milani Runway Eyeshadow in Lilly White.  I have to say, Milani is definitely one of my favorite drug store brands.  They have very high quality products at minimal prices...especially when they are on sale or BOGO!

Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Jordana Bright Eyes "Green" - inner corner
MAC "She Who Dares" - green side - outer corner, into crease
Milani "Lilly White" - highlight
Mary Kate & Ashley Black liquid eyeliner
Mally Volume Mascara in Black

That's all! :)  Time to go update more posts!
