Jane Be Pure Mineral Makeup

9:47 AM

As I posted earlier, Walgreens had BOGO on their Jane Cosmetics line, so I used this as an opportunity to try some of their new mineral makeup. I ended up purchasing:

- Jane Be Pure Crushed Mineral Powder "Light/Medium"

- Jane Be Pure Crushed Mineral Blush "Mink" and "SunBrushed"

- Jane Endless Liquid Eye Liner "Evening Brown" and "Charcoal"

- Jane Be Pure Mineral Lip Balm "Rose Quartz" and "Pink Garnet"

- Jane Be Pure Mineral Eyeliners "Wine" and "Navy"

I will be posting about them later today with pictures. Overall, they were fantastic, especially for the price!!

EOTD Browns

Maybelline Fiery Sunset Swatches and EOTD

9:29 PM

For those of us who love neutrals (I happen to be one of us!), this pallet is perfect for the summer because of how bright and frosty the colors are. I was initially drawn to the set for the "brow" color at the bottom. The picture doesn't do it justice, as this is full of bright ivory white, with tons of irridescent and warm sparkle.

Maybelline Fiery Sunset - natural light
Maybelline Fiery Sunset - flash

Swatches: Maybelline Fiery Sunset

When doing this look, I just followed the directions (for once) on the package. I used the pinky/brown color (on top) for the lid, the bright copper (middle) for the crease and the white (bottom) for the high light on the brown bone. Unfortunately everything is kind of washed out from the camera, as the lighting in the room wasn't very good the other morning, but you get the idea. Also, I know I need to do my eyebrows, I just haven't had time! :)

Walgreens PSA! Jane Cosmetics and L'oreal HIP BOGO!!

4:12 PM

Walgreens has Jane and L'oreal HIP "Buy One Get One Free", amongst tons of other great sale items. Here is what I saw:

Jane Cosmetics - BOGO (Including all the new Be Pure line)
Loreal HIP - BOGO
Prestige Cosmetics - 40% off
Revlon Maybelline Cosmetics - BOGO
European Collection Skin Care Line - Buy One Get One 50% off!

Although I was just there the other day and bought some stuff, I felt the need to buy more, which I will post in the next day or two! Yay for BOGO!!

Brushes

Brushes, Maybelline Fiery Sunset Trio, Jane Pure Mineral Gel Liner, and more...

8:08 AM

I went to Walgreens the other evening after work to see if they had the Jane Pure Mineral Gel liner that I read about on Christina's blog, and stumbled across a few other items that I needed!

First of all, when I was digging a long the bottom of the "new makeup" displays they have, I found some new brushes by Jane and one of the EcoTools that I've read everyone talk about. The two Jane brushes are to the left: smudging brush and eyeshadow brush. The brush to the right is the Eco Tools foundation brush. I didn't realize that Jane made brushes, but from what I can tell, they are great quality!

A few days ago, Vanessa mentioned on her blog about Sally Hansen Line Smoothing Airbrush Makeup. I bought the Creamy Natural color, for light to medium skin tones, so I will do a review of that later in the week after I have figured it out! Although I am a huge mineral makeup fan, I'm definitely excited to try it after I saw Vanessa's review.

While I was walking through Walgreens, I came across an end cap that had some new Maybelline makeup, including this gorgeous shadow trio called "Fiery Sunset". I was really drawn by the high lighter color at the bottom of the set, but the other two are beautiful too. I have done an EOTD and swatched the colors to show you soon. These are absolutely beautiful for those of you who love neutrals but want something a little brighter for the summer!

Last, what I actually went to Walgreens to buy - the Jane Be Pure Mineral Eyeliner in "Wine". I absolutely love the consistency and the pigmentation of the liner, so I will do a look with this later!

Mac

MAC Solar Bits Swatches

9:24 AM

Just a quick post to show the swatches of the MAC Solar Bits I recieved from Vanessa a few weeks ago - unfortunately it's taken me a long time to get these up. I will do a look with those here in the next couple of days.

The colors are in the following order from left to right:

Bronze Ore, Sun Rays, Scatter Rays

Bare Escentuals

QVC's Bare Escentuals TSV - FOTD

9:37 AM

As promised, here are the actual photos and swatches from the Bare Escentuals "Today's Special Value" I ordered on QVC the other day. I was so excited when I saw the colors in person - they are perfect colors for a light, smokey look without having to dip into blacks or silvers.

Bare Escentuals Blush "Courage"
Courage is a nice, warm but neutral coral color. It has a hit of shimmer, but not tons like True does. I really do like this color, as it adds just enough color to your cheeks! I used this with the angled blush brush that came in the kit, and love it. The brush is nice and fluffy, giving a very light coverage.

Bare Escentuals Eye Color "Idol" and "Hero"

These two colors compliment eachother very well. Idol is a deep lilac color, and Hero is a nice rosey mauve. I think that Idol would be a beautiful liner, as well, but in my FOTD below I used it as a crease and lid color to create a somewhat smokey look. Both have subtle shimmer, as you can see in the pictures above.

Swatches: Courage, Idol, Hero

Bare Escentuals Tinted Feather Light Mineral Veil
Don't be fooled by the picture above, as I'm sure this looks like "Warmth" with some shimmer, but it truely is a Mineral Veil. There is a subtle bit of color to it, as opposed to the sheer white that the normal Mineral Veil is. Also, because this is the feather light, it has a bit of shimmer - not a lot, but just enough to add a natural glow to the skin. I loved the tinted mineral veil because in the summer I get a little tan, and this doesn't take away from the color of my foundation.
My FOTD is below...
Face:
Bare Escentuals Foundation "Medium"
Bare Escentuals Tinted Feather Light Mineral Veil
Bare Escentuals Blush "Courage"
Eyes:
Loreal DeCrease Eyeshadow Primer
Bare Escentuals "Hero" - foiled - lid
Bare Escentuals "Idol" - foiled in crease - dry on outer corner of lid
Bare Escentuals "White Gold" - dry as high light
Bare Escentuals Eyeshadow/Liner "Humor" - applied wet to top and bottom.
Lips:
Bare Escentuals Buxom Lipgloss "Zena"

QVC Today Special Value - Bare Escentuals

9:39 AM

Last week I ordered the QVC Today Special Value for Bare Escentuals - a 10 piece collection that was full of soft colors perfect for summer. I just received the item in the mail, so I will take some pictures of them up close, but here are little teaser picture from the website for you to see.

Honestly, I have been debating about trying the Rare Minerals, so I am very excited that a small size jar came in this kit, as it gives me the opportunity to see what the hype is about. I will definitely do a review of this product once I get myself in the routine of using it.
The three colors below are a blush (courage) and two eyeshadows. I think that Hero could double as a blush, as it is a nice cool toned berry color.

The other "new" product that came in this kit was the Tinted Featherlight Mineral Veil, which I am loving! This is perfect for the summer, as it has a hint of color to it, along with a little glimmer to brighten up the complexion. If this becomes available full sized, I will be purchasing this one for sure!
Last, but not least are the brushes. I have always loved BE's brushes, so I was excited to get a few more to add to the collection. The three are as follows (from top to bottom) - Flawless Face Brush, Angled Blush Brush, and Full Tapered Eyeshadow Brush. I was in desperate need of a blush brush, so the second one down was a must have in my collection!

Avon

Bare Escentuals Chameleon FOTD

9:00 AM

Good morning everyone! It's been one hectic week, and I'm so happy to be able to sit down and blog again - I have tons of things to catch up on and lots of pictures to post.

First, I have been loving corals and turquoise together, so I decided to play around with my mineral makeup and find some bright turqouise colors. One that I always lean towards because it is bright, but neutral, is Bare Escentuals Glimmer in Chameleon.

This color is a nice, light turquoise color with golds and pinks flecked through it.

I decided to pair the Taylor Made Minerals in Brown Sugar with it, as this is a metallic and sparkly cool bronze color, perfectly matched with the cool tones of a turquoise color.

I finished off the look with a bright coral lipstick, Avon Ultra Rich "Chic", covered with a sparkly lipgloss Smashbox "Enhance".

The full picture is below:
