EOTD Orange

My Happy Halloween EOTD/FOTD using Fyrinnae Arcane Magic Pyromontic Erotica and Pumpkinfire & MAC Firespot

11:53 AM

Happy Halloween to everyone!  I hope your evening is full of treats, and possible a few tricks!

Below, I wanted to do something for Halloween, but wasn't feeling super-creative this morning, so orange and black it is.  I used Fyrinnae and MAC.

Face:
Laura Geller Champagne Spackle
Laura Geller Balance 'n Brighten Fair
Milani Baked Blush in Coralista

Eyes:
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Fyrinnae Pumpkinfire - outer corners/crease
MAC Firespot - inner lid
Fyrinnae Arcane Magic Pyromontic Erotica - inner corner and blended into lower lashline
Unknown Wet 'n Wild as highlight

Lips:
Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle

Here's a closeup of the eye.  I like the color combination a lot - the Fyrinnae shadows, of course, are gorgeous.

What did you do for Halloween?

Chapstick

Spotted at Walmart: Holiday Flavored Chapstick - Candy Cane, Chocolate Truffle and Apple Cider

4:23 PM

Maybe I've been living under a rock, but I had no idea ChapStick came out with seasonal flavors!  Standing in line at Walmart today, I noticed this brown swirl wrapped ChapStick and picked it up to see it was called Chocolate Truffle.  In the same box was Candy Cane and Apple Cider.  They sound delicious and at $0.98 a piece, a nice way to get a seasonal fix without the calories!  Have you seen these before?

Halloween

NOTD: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips in Patch-o-Lanterns

11:02 AM

I took some time off work last week for a little staycation, as I'm sure was evident by my lack of posts last week.  I was due for some time with my family, and although I didn't get much accomplished off of my "to do" list at home, I do feel refreshed, which is nice going into the hectic holidays.

It's hard to believe that Halloween is only a couple of days away, which means The Holidays are only a blink of an eye away!  In honor of carving jack-o-lanterns with my son yesterday, I decided to try out the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail strips in Patch-o-Lanterns.  Such a cute one, I love all the little faces.  I have tried these strips before, and I really like them.  They are a less stressful way of accomplishing a neat holiday manicure without all the prep-work.

Sorry for the blurry pictures - I had to settle for my iPhone since I forgot my camera...whoops!

kiss

Spotted at Meijer: A few more Halloween goodies from Kiss Nail and Lip Dress, Sinful Magnetics

9:00 AM

Meijer never fails when it comes to all the new products and various Halloween makeup goodies this time of year.  The Halloween aisle wasn't as packed as normal, but I still found lots of things to share with you.  First up, Sinful Magnetic polishes.  Of all the magnetic polishes I've seen, this is the first one I've seen with a removable magnet, meaning you could collect various different patterns to use on all of your magnetic polishes.  Smart!

You can see the "ring" that has the magnet on it in the picture below.

Next up the Kiss Nail Artist Halloween Stickers.  I love their seasonal stickers - they are so fun and cute, and a really simple and easy way to add some holiday spirit to your manicure, without a lot of time or effort.

Also from Kiss, the Lip Dress lip tattoos.  These are definitely outside of my comfort zone, but they would be a neat way to really snap up a Halloween costume (i.e. the Cheetah lips if you were dressing up as a cat, etc).

There were also several varieties of Nail Stickers a-la-Sally-Hanson-Salon-Effects...

First up, Kiss Nail Dress.  Several varieties here, but I think I already showed you these from a Walgreens spotting.

Also, Fright Night had some Nail Wraps and new polish colors for Halloween.

These nail wraps aren't exactly Halloween specific - they are bright and could certainly be worn anytime.  Below are some closeups of the wraps.

Have you seen any of these?  Have you tried the Lip Dress by Kiss?

CVS

Spotted at CVS: The New Sally Hansen Salon Effects Holiday Collection for 2012

12:00 PM

Halloween is just around the corner, but Christmas is out in the stores!  Sally Hansen got a jump start on their holiday merchandising this year, and the Salon Effects for Christmas are already out.  Two glitter strips are there this year: Shiny New Year (red) and Holi-Daze (a bluish silver).  There is also a snowflake called "Snow Way!" and a really pretty nude with black vine design called Simply D-Vine.  Lastly, "Checkin' it Twice" is a pretty as well, and easily worn outside of the Christmas holiday.

Closeups below - what do you think?

Bare Escentuals

FOTD: L'Oreal Infallible "Golden Emerald", MAC Golden Olive & Fyrinnae Leopard Print Galaxy and Dokkakar

11:12 AM

It has been far too long since I've posted a FOTD, and I absolutely loved the combination I used for a look this week, so I had to snap some pictures.  If I had been thinking, I would have also taken some outside, because these indoor pictures don't do it justice at all.

I apologize for my ghostly appearance - it's official, fall is here, and after about 2 weeks out of the sun, I lose all color I potentially gained over the summer.  I have officially switched back to my Bare Escentuals foundation in Fair, since I don't have anything else that nearly compliments my coloring right now.

Here is what I used for the look:

Face
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
Laura Geller Real Deal Liquid Concealer - Light
Bare Escentuals Mineral Foundation - Fair
Bare Escentuals Tinted Mineral Veil
Laura Geller Blush 'n Brighten in Golden Apricot

Eyes
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Fyrinnae Leopard Print Galaxy - inner corners
MAC Pigment in Golden Oliver - middle of lids
L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Golden Emerald - middle of lids blended into crease
Fyrinnae Dokkakar - outer corner/crease
Physicians Formula Gel Eyeliner - Black
L'Oreal Extra Volume Collagen Hydra Collagen Plumping Mascara

Lips
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Rosetto 08

I've said it before and I will again - I am absolutely loving the L'oreal Infallible eyeshadows.  I really would like to pick up a brown color, but I am waiting for a sale.  They blended effortlessly into one of my favorite brands, Fyrinnae.  Unfortunately, my camera isn't able to pick up how gorgeous these shadows were together.

Ardell

Spotted at CVS: Adell Wildlash Collection

12:56 PM

Looking for something exotic to finish up that Halloween costume? Well CVS had some gorgeous false eyelashes by Ardell that are made of some gorgeous feathers!  My absolute favorite were those with the peacock feathers, having this gorgeous blue/green iridescence.  There were six total to choose from, some being big and over the top, and others having a softer more feminine feel to them.  The lashes retailed for $6.99 each - have you seen these yet?

Fing'rs

Spotted at Walmart: Fing'rs Stick on Nails for Halloween

9:51 AM

Every year I love looking through the Halloween aisles at all the makeup kits and holiday themed items.  Walmart had an entire section devoted to Fing'rs Stick-On Nails that were holiday themed, for both adults and children.  I'm not going to lie, I really preferred the kids versions over the adults, but that is probably because they were more whimsical and that is the type of Halloween I prefer.  I took some closeups of what I could dig out of the display below.  They look like a fun way to snap up an outfit!

Look at how cute these pumpkins are!  I love them!

The Frankensteins above are adorable too!

Eyeliners

Spotted at Walgreens: Glam Republic Illusion Eyes Eyeliner Appliques

8:45 AM

Who doesn't love the bold yet simple look of the pin up or cat eye eyeliner?  Marilyn is probably the most iconic with this look, and for years we have tried to replicate her gorgeous technique with pencils, felt tips, liquid and gel eyeliners.  Well, if you are one of the many out there who haven't mastered the technique, Glam Republic has something new for you to try out: Illusion Eyes

Illusion Eyes are temporary and reusable eyeliner appliques, giving you a variety of options to create and play with your makeup look.

I'm intrigued.  These are $5.99 a piece, and there are some bold looks that might be fun, especially with Halloween coming up.   Have you seen these?  Have you tried them?  Wonder what they are like!?

Fantasy Makers

Spotted at Walgreens: A new Wet 'n Wild Halloween Display? New Polishes and Sets?

3:23 PM

So I lied....I went into Walgreens over lunch and found another display up that wasn't there last week  - this time for Wet 'n Wild and Fantasy Makers Halloween.  Most items I've already seen with the exception of the following: new (?) colors for Wet 'n Wild Mega Last Salon nail Colors?  I checked the names and I wasn't familiar with them, and they sounded seasonal (i.e. Poison Ivy, which I picked up), and I checked the regular display and didn't see these.  These colors were all frosts, and very rich deep ones at that.

There were also two collections of nail polishes, each for $4.99 each.  The first is a Crackle Nail Color Kit, which comes with a Fantasy Makers black nail polish and then three Fantasy Maker mini Crackle Polishes.  The three crackles were a bright turquoise/blue, ruby red and silver crackle.

The other kit was the Neon Nail Color Kit, which also came with the Fantasy Makers black creme nail polish and three minis of neon cremes.  Pretty colors and a fun little goodie for someone too!

Nailpolish

Spotted at Walgreens: SensatioNAIL Magnetic Gel Nailpolish

11:06 AM

I think this is the last installment of my recent "spotted" from my visit to Walgreens earlier in the week.  Another gel polish here, but this time it's magnetic.  Magnetic?!  Really?  I didn't think that was a possibility with the gel polishes, but evidently it is!

If you are really into the magnetic polishes and want that look to last a while, this might be the way to go for you!  Have you seen these yet?
