Imagine that! Blogs drive beauty purchases more than magazines
10:09 AMQuite an interesting publication below!
Blogs drive beauty purchases more than magazines: "Blogs are more than twice as likely to inspire cosmetic and beauty purchases than magazines, according to a recent survey."

That doesn't surprise me in the least. I don't read a single beauty magazine, but I am subscribed to a million beauty blogs.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! I've bought some items because a blogger reviewed it well or recommended it :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Now when I open a magazine, I only flip to the looks for ideas. I don't see what they used to make it because chances are it's more of a "how to copy" type of thing, and the products are something else, something THEY wanna sell you. At least with blogs, you actually get to hear what people disliked about a product, not just "buy this, it's red, you will like it."
ReplyDeleteYou know, I'm not the least bit surprised by that article. I think women today realize that magazines feature products that were snuck in by PR, not because they're actually awesome. Bloggers feature in depth reviews, useful tips to use the product and swatches! If that doesn't sway you, what will? XD
ReplyDeleteI definitely look for blogs and Youtube videos to find out about products, rather than magazines, because I know I'm getting an honest opinion. plus, magazines don't show swatches :P
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you all - it's amazing what a couple swatches and an honest opinion can do for a product - be it high end or from the drugstores. I've found some of my favorite and most used products from the blogosphere - not to mention, it's what made me want to start blogging in the first place!
