Spotted at Walgreens: New NutraNail Gel Perfect 5 Minute Gel-Color Manicure Sets

11:30 AM

On a recent trip to Walgreens (looking for the Wet 'n Wild LE polishes none-the-less), I saw a little display of a new NutraNail product - their Gel Perfect 5 minute Gel-Color Manicure sets.  I can only assume these are the up and coming "at home" versions of the very popular Shellac Nail system that has hit salons over the past year or so.

Although the display I saw only had four colors to choose from (I picked up Dahlia), there are actually quite a few on the website.

I'm going to try these out here in the next day or two.  I am wearing my Chanel Peridot right now, and I can't quite get enough of it.

Have you seen these out?  What do you think?

  1. I purchased this product at Walgreens last weekend. Initially I was in love. The color is gorgeous, the shine is impeccible, and my ordinarily thin, brittle nails were as hard as acrylics. However, it didn't take long for the honeymoon to end. The next morning I woke up and the polish at the tips of my nails was severely cracked, not just on one nail, but on four. So, assuming I did something wrong in the initial application, I removed it with regular acetone nail polish remover and tried it again. With the identical result. After several days of the polish cracking and peeling off, I finally removed it yesterday and re-applied, again hoping and praying that I'd missed something in the application process. I followed the instructions step by step, except now, instead of two thin coats of the polish, I applied FOUR thin coats. Imagine my disappointment this morning when already two of my nails are cracked and a third is peeling. I'd suggest this product for a special night out, but nothing more. The finished product is beautiful, but doesn't last more than a few hours unfortunately.

  2. @Charlene - Interesting, and good to know. I am going to try this whole process this week sometime. I'm anxious to see how it works. I would say, at $12-$14 a pop, it's kind of pricey for a one-time-deal, but I guess that's not as expensive as a professional manicure. We shall see!

Thank you for posting though - although you didn't have an exceptional experience, I like to hear what other people have to say about all these new products that are coming out.
