Loreal

CVS Sale - Loreal HIP, Revlon, and Wet & Wild

8:13 PM

I ran into CVS the other day to pick up some things, and stumbled across the following on sale:

Loreal HIP Pigment Sticks - 75% off
Revlon A Floral Affair Blush "Pinking of You" - 50% off
Revlon Flora Affair Eyeshadow - 50% off
NEW Wet 'n Wild Mineral Eyeshadows
NEW Wet 'n Wild

Here is a nice closeup of the eyeliners: The two on left (fine point) are the new Wet 'n Wild eyeliners, which were surprisingly smooth and easy to use. There is a hint of glitter in each of them, but not enough to worry about fallout or to be overwhelming. The bright green eyeliner on the right is one of the new Wet 'n Wild eye crayons, which works perfectly as a base or as a bright liner/shadow.

Swatches of the pencils:

Next I found the Loreal HiP pigment sticks, which I have been watching for quite some time, and debating the purchase. But, of course, as a 75% sale comes along, I'm helpless. I'm not sure if they are disco'ing these particular items, but they are extremely smooth and work great as a liner or shadow/base. I particularly like the mauve color on the right because I don't have a whole lot in that color range.

High Intensity Pigment Sticks: Mezmerizing, Exquisite, Irresistable
Below are the new Wet ' Wild Mineral Eyeshadows, which are gorgeous!

Swatches below (Bronze and Copper).

I will try and do an EOTD with these mineral eyeshadows because they are absolutely gorgeous! :)

CCO Haul - MAC Skinfinish and Beauty Powders!

8:00 AM

On my way back from a few days in Louisville for work the other afternoon, I decided to pop by the outlet mall that is on the way home and hit the CCO to see what they had available.  I ran across the last MAC Skinfinish in Light Flush, along with the two MAC Beauty Loose Powders below (Soft Focus and Natural Flare).

Below is the MAC Loose Beauty Powder in Soft Focus, a beautiful pearlescent skintone color with gold iridescence.

Below is the MAC Loose Beauty Powder in Natural Flame, which is a gorgeous berry color with warm golden sparkles and undertones.

I swatched out the colors so you could see the iridescence better - on the left is Natural Flame and on the right is Soft Focus.  These are beautiful on their own, layered, over and under blushes.  I couldn't be happier with the quality and how these just light up your face.

The Skinfinish in Light Flush is a gorgeous skintone with pinks, tans, beiges, and berry running through.  Perfect for me, as I have very fair skin and need something light and natural to wear in the winter when I don't have a whole lot of color - this is definitely it!

Cover Girl

Cover Girl LashBlast Luxe Shimmering Mascara

8:17 PM

Cover Girl has come out with an extension of the LashBlast line, which includes four shimmering colored mascaras to brighten the eyes.  The tube is a bright pink, and to be honest I stumbled across these in the makeup aisle, because there wasn't even an end cap or display with this new product on it!  Weird!

The three colors I bought are below; a navy, emerald and deep maroon/purple.  The colors are called Shimmering Royal, Shimmering Emerald and Shimmering Cabernet respectively.  The colors are very vibrant, but believable!

When you put the mascara on, you still benefit from the beautiful volume and separation that the original LashBlast gives, but with a hint of color that you can see when you move from side to side.  They are absolutely beautiful, and I would definitely recommend you pick one up that would compliment your eye color!

Tonight...tonight...

7:07 AM

...I will start blogging again! I have so many goodies to share, and work has been so busy I haven't been able to upload ANYTHING! I'll try tonight :)

Avon

Mark Flip-for-It Sets Fall '08

8:00 AM

I haven't posted much with regards to Avon/mark. recently, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to show you all these cute mark. Flip For It sets. Each set comes with two eyeshadows, a blush, and four lipglosses that all coordinate together for an all-in-one look that you can take with you. Not bad for around $20!

I ordered the three colors from this past fall - Milan, London, & New York:

Bare Escentuals

Bare Escentuals Crown Jewels "Mother of all Gems"

8:00 AM

I heard rumors that Target had the Crown Jewels kit from Bare Escentuals, but I didn't believe it until I saw it with my own eyes - $12.48!!!  Seriously!

As you can see in the picture above, this kit comes with four colors (one eyeliner, two shadows and an all over radiance) as well as three brushes and a lipgloss.  The eyeliner is Onyx, which is a matte blackest-black.  The two shadows are Opal, which is a beautiful glimmer with a little iridescence, and True Gold which is the most beautiful sparkly gold shadow I know.  There is nothing brassy about this color - it is truly crushed gold.  Swatches of these colors are below.

Something I love about these BE sets are all the great brushes.  This comes with an angled face brush, a dual ended precision eye.

Below are the swatches - from right to left it is Onyx, Clear Radiance, Opal and True Gold.  Beautiful!!

Bare Escentuals

Bare Escentuals Extreme Glimmers Collection

8:21 AM

About a month ago I purchased the Bare Minerals Extreme Glimmers kit. This comes with three gorgeous, extremely shiny and sparkly colors, a large sample of Prime Time (eye) and a glimmer/foiling brush. The three colors are absolutely gorgeous, and definitely perfect for a night out! The brush is extremely compact and goes by the reference of "swirl, tap, PAT" the colors on, giving you a beautiful foiled look, wet or dry!

My first impression when I opened the lids was the similarity between the texture of these colors and the MAC Solar Bits. These are definitely chunky in initial appearance, but once you apply them on they are extremely creamy and smooth. I would actually recommend using your fingertips to apply these colors as opposed to a brush - I think the application is a lot easier this way. Also, when you add a little water - these colors are an absolutely gorgeous liner!

Now, I know I took swatches, but for some reason they are not showing up in my photobucket - so let me revisit my camera and upload them for you! :) Let me know if you have any questions - these are definitely a bit different than the normal BE line!

Revlon

Stocking Stuffers - Revlon Limited Editions!

10:19 AM

Over the late summer Revlon came out with some limited edition lines that had a soft, frosty and floral theme to them. Luckily, my mom hit the jackpot at Walgreens and found a bunch of them on sale for my stocking! I have to admit, I was hesitant when I saw them in the store, especially the eyeshadows because the packaging doesn't allow you to see how beautiful the colors truly are, but when I opened and tried the colors out, I couldn't have been happier. The three items I received were the Revlon Soft on the Eyes pallet in "Sub-Lime", A Floral Affair Blush in "Pinking of You", and Mix and Mingle Gloss in "Chatty Cherry".

Here is a closeup of the gloss, which is a gorgeous and light Barbie pink on. The thing I love the most is that you can choose the three colors individually with your brush, or swirl them together in the middle for a frosty bright pink!

One thing I have been on a mission to find is a pretty highlighter to use over blushes when they just need to kick it up a notch. This blush does it for me! A perfect frosty pink, with a subtle warmth due to the peach, this color doesn't add a ton of color unless you apply a couple of layers, which brings a beautiful flush to the cheeks. I need to reswatch this, as the flash adjusted the coloring, and we haven't had great days to take any in natural light. I will update once I do this!

Finally, the Soft on the Eyes collection in Sub-Lime. A beautiful quad of turquoise, peach, lime green and off white, all with shimmer, but not glitter. I was hesitant on the packaging, but once opened, you will find that the packaging allows for you to dip into the color without spilling it everywhere else. Even the brush is decent for a drugstore brand! Swatches are to follow!

These colors were definitely a lot nicer than I expected and can't wait for spring to arrive to really start playing with them, although you all know that won't stop me from starting early!

Napolean Perdis

Napolean Perdis "Chicago" & Smashbox Cream Eyeliner Palette

8:47 AM

I started working on pictures of all the goodies I got for Christmas the other night - I'm so excited to share it all with you!

I am going to start with the two items below: Napolean Perdis' Eyeshadow Set "Chicago" (from Target) and the Smashbox Cream Eyeliner Palette (from Sephora).

Up first is the NP Set "Chicago" which is a trio of beautiful, frosty, taupes. This retails for approximately $20 at Target. You can see it here, along with the other colors that are available. I will admit, I've read mixed reviews on NP's products, especially due to the price of his products, but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality, texture and pigmentation of this set. I can honestly say these colors were just as creamy, frosty and smooth as the Stila Kitten eyeshadow that is a holy grail for lots of you out there - and for approximately $6.70 an eyeshadow, this is a pretty good deal! I haven't tried any of his other products, but I might have to splurge on a few more after trying this set.
Below I swatched the set, which matches with the orientation of the shadows above. Unfortunately, the lighting is pretty minimal, but you can see the colors and frostiness of the shadows pretty well. I will work on a look using these colors soon!
Last, but not least, is the Smashbox Cream Eyeliner Palette found at Sephora. I have been looking at these little gems for over a year, and my mom so graciously gave this one to me for Christmas! I was so excited! I love their liners, and what a slim and convenient little package to try several colors at once! I haven't swatched these yet, because I wanted to make sure I had some good natural light to take the picture in, as these liners are absolutely gorgeous! They also have the same great quality that the full size Smashbox liners do, so for $32 this is a steal!
