Laura Geller Baked Cakes

9:36 PM

I have been wanting to try Laura Geller's makeup for months now, so when I saw QVC had it as a Today's Special Value a few months ago, I went back and forth and debated on whether or not I should order. I waited until the next day, which was when it had already sold out but was still available on waitlist. It took about a month or so to get it back in stock, but I did receive mine today, and I am so excited to try out the makeup. The set is "Laura's Baked Cakes" and it comes with Balance-n-Brighten, Blush-n-Brighten Honey, Cake eyeliner in Plum Pudding/Black Forest, Marble Baked eyeshadow Devil's Food/Pink Icing, Moisturizing Lip Shiner Spice, and two brushes as well. Hopefully in the next day or two I can put together some swatches, but for now the product is below:

The entire kit above.

Marble Baked duo eyeshadow "Pink Icing/Devil's Food"

Baked Eyeliner Duo "Plum Pudding/Black Forest"

Blush-n-Brighten "Honey"

Balance-n-Brighten

Lipshine "Spice"

I love the look of the makeup - the swirls and tons of frost/sparkle appeal to me. I don't think I own a matte-eyeshadow in my entire collection, which is enormous! I hope the pigmentation and staying power is great with these, because if they are I can definitely be back for more!

I love when it starts to get warm out - that means brighter color clothes, and therefore, brighter color makeup!

I was wearing some blues and greens today, so I decided to reflect that in the shadow I was wearing. The colors are much more intense in person, the flash washed out the pigmentation a little bit in the pictures below, but you get the idea.

Loreal HIP "Secretive" - base all over lid
Bare Escentuals "Envy" glimmer - inner corner of lid
Ulta Mineral Eyeshadow "Atlantis" - outer corner and lower lash line
Mac Royal Assets Pallet - crease
Milani Wet/Dry Eyeshadow "Lilly White" - hilight
Mary Kate & Ashley Liquid Eyeliner "Turquoise"
Diorshow Blackout Mascara

It's sunny outside...finally!

In honor of the beautiful spring!! weather we have been having, I decided to do something a little lighter but with tons of sparkle. Unfortunately, the sparkle isn't all that noticable in the pictures but you get the idea.

I also decided this would be a great opportunity to try out the Loreal HIP paints as a base for my eyeshadows. I was a little concerned that the paints might cause my eyes to be sensative, or have some irritation, but I was pleasantly suprised! Not only did they dry in a snap, my eyeshadow lasts hours and hours beyond what it would normally with just foiling or normal application. I would highly recommend drying this technique to acquire some lasting power in your shadows. There are quite a few colors to choose from, but I chose the most neutral and closest to my complexion, which was "Secretive". It is a light beige with a hint of shimmer.

For the look below:

Loreal HIP "Secretive" - all over lid as base
The Cosmetic Princess "Silver Sage" - lid
Taylor Made Minerals "Chitzy" - foiled over Silver Sage on lid
Mac Royal Assets "Metallic Pallet" - crease
Milani Wet/Dry Eyeshadow "Lilly White" - hilight
Rimmel Eye Magnifier Mascara "Black"

Out of the office :)

So, first of all my apologies for being non-existant these past couple days. My husband wrecked (and totaled) his car, so we are currently working to find another one, which has encompassed all of my time! I will try and be up and running again here in the next day or two. I may even have to play with some makeup this afternoon just to make me feel better! I hate car shopping - it's probably one of the worst things to deal with IMO.

Well, hopefully I will talk to you all shortly! Have a great day - spring is almost here!!
