3d fiber lashes
FOTD: Urban Decay Vice 3 (Downfall, Heroine, Bobby Dazzle) and Urban Decay Vice LTD Disco
3:57 PM
I have absolutely fallen in love with my two Urban Decal pallets from Christmas. Dragon might be the best green I've worked with in a long time (used it here), but I am also loving the matte shadows in both of these sets. I don't typically go for mattes, but I am learning how to use them to blend into creases and create some different combinations with them, although it has been a struggle because most brands matte shadows are so chalky and difficult to work with. Not so much with UD!
I have been eyeing Heroine in the Vice3 pallet, but typically don't wear blues. I decided to mix it with Disco and a whole lot of glitter to have some fun!
Here is the look, below:

I'm not going to lie, I went ahead and woke up at 2:00 in the morning to make sure I could get my hands on the relaunch of the Urban Decay Vice LTD pallet. In the meantime, I had already purchased the Vice 3 Pallet, and had decided it was my Christmas present to myself, so held off on using it until just now.

FOTD w/ Urban Decay Naked Pallet, Wet 'n Wild LE Pallet in Daring Downtown, Loreal Infallible in Gold Imperial, and Jordana Color Effects Eyeshadow in Green
2:17 PMPlaying around with green and gold today. One of my favorite drugstore greens is Jordana Color Effects Eyeshadow in Green, which is truly one of the "greenest" eyeshadows I own. It wears like iron when over a primer, and has a nice brightening shimmer. I love finding little gems like these in the drug store!
For the look, here is what I used:
Face:
Laura Geller Spackle
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer - Light
Laura Geller Balance 'n Brighten - Fair
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay Naked Pallet - Buck - blended into crease
Wet 'n Wild LE Pallet in Daring Downtown (Black shade) - cut crease blended into Buck
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy - lid (not above crease)
Jordana Green - lid / lower lashline
Loreal Infallible "Gold Imperial" - inner corner
Urban Decay Naked Pallet - Sin - lightly blended into highlight
Physicians Formula Gel Eyeliner - black
Younique 3D Moodstruck Fiber lashes - mascara
I almost forgot I found this lovely Wet 'n Wild on sale for 50% off during the CVS Beauty sale, which is what I am wearing in the pic above.
After falling in love with the L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadows, I was very excited to see some new additions to the Infallable line with the Eye Crayons. There are several colors available - if you haven't seen them head over to Nouveau Cheap and check them out - but I picked up two of the basic colors: Forever Taupe and Midnight Charcoal.
I don't have any EOTD's or FOTD's to show you yet, as I have been testing this out various different ways, but so far so good! I have not experienced any budging or smearing, particularly when worn on my lower lashline, which is an added plus!
Below are some swatches, just so you can see the colors. Have you tried these yet?
Hands down one of the best drug store products I've come across in recent history are the new L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadows. I have picked up several of them over the past year, and one of my favorite colors is Golden Emerald, which I am wearing in this FOTD. I paired it with my Milani Infinite eyeliner in "Eternal" to really brighten the look. Using Eternal actually made the L'Oreal appear more brown, so it obviously played the golden tones up more than it does standing alone or with black liner. I really liked the combination.
Scroll down for more pictures. Unfortunately, as I did this several weeks ago, I can't remember what else I used!
EOTD
Bright Green Smokey EOTD / FOTD with Rimmel "Green Sapphire", Wet 'n Wild "Blue Had Me at Hello" and Maybelline "Mythical Mermaid"
10:13 AM
Playing off of yesterday's post of bright pink, today features Maybelline's "Mythical Mermaid" Eyestudio Pallet in a bright neon green smokey eye. The bright yellow/green in this pallet has some iridescent shimmer, but isn't a chrome, so works well with the matte black on the Wet 'n Wild "Blue had Me at Hello" pallet to create the smokey eye. Where the black and yellow/green meet, I blended the olive shade from the Rimmel Green Sapphire pallet, as well as placed this along the lower lashline on top of black, blended into the yellow/green from the Maybelline set. I used a matte ivory from an old Hard Candy pallet on the brow bone.
I actually had some patience this morning, so I really like how this turned out. I need to take my time more often! Full details on the FOTD below.
Face:
Laura Geller Spackle Primer
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer in Fair
Laura Geller Balance 'n Brighten - Light

Aromaleigh
Swatches and FOTD: Aromaleigh "Spectacularly Ignorant" & "Tribute Token" and Loreal Infallible "Dive Right In" w/ Laura Geller's Collection of Love Set
9:50 AM
All this snow has me thinking about warm beaches and tropical blue waters. So....when I found a $2 off coupon for L'oreal and was able to pick up the Infallible shadow in "Dive Right In", I decided to build a EOTD around this color that could get me out of the winter doldrums. (Click on any of the images below to enlarge).
I just received a new order of Aromaleigh eyeshadows, two of which went really well with Dive Right In, so I decided to coordinate around them. Spectacularly Ignorant (from the Sherlock Holmes "Brilliant Deductions" collection) and Tribute Token (from the Hunger Games "Ever In Your Favor" collection) are two absolutely stunning, multifaceted, colors. Can we talk about how absolutely gorgeous these are? Not to mention, pigmented, long lasting, and just down right unique!
Spectacularly Ignorant is a very deep teal to evergreen base with golden shimmer. Tribute Token is a mustard green that has pink and copper shimmer. Both are extremely multifaceted, and it is difficult to capture in the pictures below, although the swatch of Tribute Token is pretty close.
For the look below, I used the following:
Face:
Laura Geller Spackle Primer (original)
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer in Light
Laura Geller Baked Elements Foundation in Fair
Mally Bronzer in Light - contour
Laura Geller Baked Heart Blush 'n Brighten in Pink Valentine
Eyes:
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Aromaleigh Tribute Token - inner corner, lower lashline
L'oreal Infallible Dive Right In - middle of lid
Aromaleigh Spectacularly Ignorant - crease, outer corner, and wet as liner
MAC Phloof - highlight
Lips:
Laura Geller Love Me Dew Lip Crayon in Lychee Glace
I absolutely loved this eyeshadow combination. Such bright and fun colors that remind me of the ocean and definitely take me away from the feet of snow we are fielding this week in the midwest! I have always loved Aromaleigh eyeshadows, but my love affair has been rekindled with these two, so I can definitely see another order being placed in the very near future.
Lip Gloss
Spotted at Walgreens: New L'Oreal Extrodinaire by Colour Riche Lip Colors & Maybelline Color Show "Straight From The Shows" Nail Polish Collection
9:00 AM
The new products keep coming! Another new collection from L'oreal - Extraordinaire by Colour Riche is a new lip color collection boasting richer color, smoother lips and shinier finish! I have seen the advertisements in the January catalogs, but the color selection in person is fantastic. I had a couple in my hand and decided to wait (not sure why!).
I can't find much about the new Maybelline nail color collection, called Straight From the Shows (the Color Show line), but it was a collection of mostly rich cremes, and maybe one or two shimmers. There were three colors that really stood out to me - two glitters (Emerald City and Diamond in the Rough) and a shimmer called Frozen Over. Closeups of these are below.
(Emerald City - Left and Diamond in the Rough - Right)
Frozen Over reminds me of a Sinful Color's shade called Cinderella, although Cinderella had more blue/color to the base. Both are pictured side by side for comparison!
So have you seen either of these collections out yet? Did you pick anything up? Love to hear what your thoughts were!
The newest addition to the gel manicure phenomenon is L'Oreal's Extrodinaire Gel-Lacque 1-2-3 System, featuring a non-LED method to create gel nails. The display has 14 colors to choose from - all creams - along with the base and top coat that go along with the system.
Closeups off the bottles and color names below. The individual colors were $7.99 each, and the base/top coat set was $12.99, so basically $21 to get started. I am not sure if there were any coupons with it, but L'oreal coupons aren't difficult to come by if you check the weekly circular!
Have you seen these? Take a look at the pics below!!
I have seen a lot of chatter about the new L'oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara on Instagram and around the blogs, so when I saw it at Walmart ($7.97) I picked up a tube of the Blackest Black to try out. The tube itself is the standard Voluminous tube, but silver.

The brush has a unique design. Where the "top" portion of the brush is pretty standard for the Voluminous line, the bottom extends out to these long combs, reminiscent to me of the old Rimmel Extreme Volume, which had a comb brush. This, the Voluminous, actually curves to fit the shape of the lashes, with the shorter combs being on the inside and the longer combs are on the outside.
A couple different views of the comb below - all pics can be enlarged for better viewing.
(side view)
(top view)
Below is a closeup of the mascara on. The product itself is definitely buildable. I didn't experience any clumping, so you can definitely get a lot of length and can continue to build until you get to the volume you desire. I really like how the brush gets up against the lashline, but I don't experience the smudging or smearing along the lashline I get with a standard brush that you are pushing up there to get close and pull across the lashes. Because of the comb portion, I also feel like all of the lower lashes get a good coat of mascara, so it is enhancing the small lashes there. I will say, the standard Voluminous and the Voluminous Million lashes seem to give me better volume.
Bottom line - I like it. I'd buy it again, although it isn't my all time favorite mascara. Still, the brush and the price make this very price friendly and easy to use!
