ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip Color "London Fog"

9:19 AM

ColourPop Cosmetics released their Ultra Satin Lip collection several weeks ago, and I picked up a couple of new shades, including this beautiful blue-toned red, called London Fog.  The texture on these is very light and not gloppy or sticky at all.  I really like semi-matte finish as well.  Not shiny like a gloss, and not completely dry/matte like the Ultra Matte Lippies.

Eyeliners

Swatches of Milani's Constellation Gel Eyeliners

12:00 PM

(Milani Constellation Gel Eyeliner: Enchanted Lapis)

Milani is one of my favorite drugstore brands - not only are their "everyday" items staples in my makeup bag, but the Limited Edition offerings that are introduced into the market are always unique, typically quite beautiful, and tend to become something I want to become part of their core line.  The Milani Constellation Gel Eyeliners are no exception.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find these in my local Wags or CVS (both displays were sold out), but I did stumble upon someone who had them up for purchase on Instagram, so I grabbed all three. Unfortunately, I have misplaced my picture of the closeup of Enchanted Opal, so please forgive me.

Gel eyeliners are my absolute go-to when it comes to eyeliners.  Liquids tend to flake on me, pencils tug and don't last, but gels are my favorite.  The three Milani Constellation gel eyeliners are a step away from the basic blacks and browns, as these certainly are multifaceted.  Yes, the sparkle you are seeing is a spray-overlay, but the actual liner itself does have some significant complexity and shimmer to it.  These are very smooth and creamy.  A little does go a long way, too.  I also think this is very "smudge" worthy, and could create some really pretty smokey eyes.  The lasting power on these were great for me.  I did not experience any flaking or the typical "tear" that tends to develop under my outer corners of my eyes from eyeliners.

(Milani Constellation Gel Eyeliner: Enchanted Emerald)

Swatches of these liners are below.  From left to right it is: Enchanted Opal, Enchanted Lapis and Enchanted Emerald.  Were you able to find these?  What did you think?

1:36 PM

(Urban Decay Vice LTD)

I'm not going to lie, I went ahead and woke up at 2:00 in the morning to make sure I could get my hands on the relaunch of the Urban Decay Vice LTD pallet.  In the meantime, I had already purchased the Vice 3 Pallet, and had decided it was my Christmas present to myself, so held off on using it until just now.

Bright Green FOTD Using L'Oreal Infallible in Golden Emerald

1:49 PM

Hands down one of the best drug store products I've come across in recent history are the new L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadows.  I have picked up several of them over the past year, and one of my favorite colors is Golden Emerald, which I am wearing in this FOTD.  I paired it with my Milani Infinite eyeliner in "Eternal" to really brighten the look.  Using Eternal actually made the L'Oreal appear more brown, so it obviously played the golden tones up more than it does standing alone or with black liner.  I really liked the combination.

Scroll down for more pictures.  Unfortunately, as I did this several weeks ago, I can't remember what else I used!

Aromaleigh

Happy St. Patrick's Day EOTD using Aromaleigh Spectacularly Ignorant, Regifted, Fyrinnae Dark Fantasy, and Make Up Forever Aqua Liner in

8:39 AM

A day late on posting my St. Patrick's Day EOTD, featuring Aromaleigh and Fyrinnae, but better late than never!  I have absolutely fallen in love with Spectacularly Ignorant from Aromaleigh.  This gorgeous evergreen with gold sparks really blends well with a lot of other colors I have in my collection, so I tend to reach for it a lot.  I blended it into Dark Fantasy from the Fyrinnae Archane Magic collection to create a deep smokey eye for St. Patty's.

Hopefully everyone had a great day yesterday!  Anyone find that pot of gold we've all been looking for? :)

Here's how I put this look together:

Laura Geller Eye Spackle - all over lid and up to browbone
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy - on lid and lower lashline
Fyrinnae Dark Fantasy - outer corner blended up into crease
Aromaleigh Spectacularly Ignorant - middle of lid, lower lashline, blended into crease
Aromaleigh Regifted - inner corner and slightly in the lower lasline.

Make Up Forever Aqua Liner in 1 - the gold one
Mally Beauty Mascara - Black

EOTD

Bright Green Smokey EOTD / FOTD with Rimmel "Green Sapphire", Wet 'n Wild "Blue Had Me at Hello" and Maybelline "Mythical Mermaid"

10:13 AM

Playing off of yesterday's post of bright pink, today features Maybelline's "Mythical Mermaid" Eyestudio Pallet in a bright neon green smokey eye.  The bright yellow/green in this pallet has some iridescent shimmer, but isn't a chrome, so works well with the matte black on the Wet 'n Wild "Blue had Me at Hello" pallet to create the smokey eye.  Where the black and yellow/green meet, I blended the olive shade from the Rimmel Green Sapphire pallet, as well as placed this along the lower lashline on top of black, blended into the yellow/green from the Maybelline set.  I used a matte ivory from an old Hard Candy pallet on the brow bone.

I actually had some patience this morning, so I really like how this turned out.    I need to take my time more often!  Full details on the FOTD below.

FOTD: Bright Pink & Springy w/ Fyrinnae Chaotic Evil and Sake & Sashimi

9:53 AM

Yesterday, it was 67 degrees here....today, snow with a low of 9.  I am so incredibly ready for spring, so I decided to play around with some bright pinks to brighten the mood.  Fyrinnae Chaotic Evil is a neon pink frost that I received a sample of a couple of months ago, but haven't had time to try out until now.  What an absolutely fun and bright color!  I paired that with Sake & Sashimi in my crease, and really like how the colors blended together.

Spotted at Meijer: New Milani Gold Label Nail Polishes, Lip Intense Liquid Colors and Power Lip Colors

10:12 AM

Milani has a few new items on their permanent display at Meijer, including two lip products and a new collection of Gold Label nail polishes.  Above, the Lip Intense Liquid lip colors - there were four bright colors ranging from red to a purple.  Interestingly, right next to the liquid lip colors was a lip liner pencil in a clear shade, to help prevent feathering.  I'm kicking myself for not picking this up, as I have a couple of lipsticks that I love, except for that pesky feathering they do!

Lastly, below are the new Gold Label polishes that are popping up on the permanent displays.  Closeups of the bottles below, these are all "sugar" themed, and remind me of Easter.  Not glitters, per say, but definitely unique top coats for the spring/summer seasons.

Have you seen these before?  After reading the names I feel like I need to go play Candy Crush!

FOTD Green

FOTD: Maybelline Color Quint "Forest", MAC She Who Dares & Revlon Timeless Nude

10:25 AM

I am ready for spring.  I'm ready for the colors, the sun, and the warmer weather.  We are supposed to get a snow storm today, so I decided that bright colors were on the "to wear" list.  Yes, my shirt is black, but I have a lime green skirt on (the color of the beads on my necklace), hence the choice of eyeshadow.

The colors/pallets I used were Maybellines Eye Studio Color Explosion Quint in Forest, MAC Venomous Villains She Who Dares eyeshadow (green side), and L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Golden Emerald.  Partnered with Revlon's Colorstay Mineral Lipgloss in Timeless Nude, I am really liking this look.

For the look, here is what I used:

Face
Make Up For Ever Microperfecting Primer
Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Coverage Foundation 115 Ivory
Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder
MAC Mineralize Blush in Hand Finish

Eyes
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
MAC She Who Dares (green side) - outer corner into crease
L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Golden Emerald - middle of lid
Maybelline Eye Studio Color Explosion Quint "Forest" - lime green - inner corner
Milani Lilly White - highlight
Mally Volumizing Mascara - black

Lips
Revlon Color Stay Mineral Lipgloss in Timeless Nude

Who else is ready for spring!?

American Beauty

Swatches of Milani's HD Advanced Lip Colors: Candy Apple, Classy Nude and Sweet Grape

11:29 AM

CVS's last beauty clearance was a good one for Milani - there were several items 75% off, so I took advantage and picked up some of the HD Advanced Lip Colors.  The three I chose were Candy Apple, Classy Nude and Sweet Grape - three different colors, but I figured at 75% off I'd buy a couple of colors I'm don't typically purchase.  Sweet Grape certainly fit that bill for me.

I apologize in advance, I've been wearing these for a while, so the pictures aren't of perfectly new, fresh out of the tube, lip colors.

These HD Lip Colors are sheer, yet buildable, and moisturizing colors for your lips.  They come packaged in a thin, long, twist bottom tube. As you twist the product up, it clicks.  I don't know about you, but when I'm not paying attention, and just grab a tube of gloss, those little "clicks" are a nice subconscious way of me making sure I don't twist up the ENTIRE tube ... and believe me, I've done that before!  Also, you can retract the color back down, so even if you do over do it, they can be put back into the tube and the lid snapped on. The actual product itself is a smaller surface to apply to the lips, so it's not the size of a full lipstick in the least.  The colors leave a nice shine behind - similar to the shine of a gloss, but more the consistency of a balm.  The lip colors also have a subtle fruity fragrance and flavor.  Not over the top, but also not a lipstick-y smell either.

Candy Apple is a rich red, with a slight blue undertone.  No shimmer here.

Sweet Grape is a pinky-purple with golden shimmer.  I'll be honest, I opened the tube and thought, "Oh jeez, there's no way I'll be able to pull this off", but it actually is a really pretty, subtle color.

Classy Nude is just that.  A simple, basic, carmel nude.  A slight shimmer, but it doesn't translate onto the lips.  Perfect to grab and go if you are needing a nude shade.

Today I wore Candy Apple, so I thought I'd post a FOTD of the whole thing.  I put about 2 coats of the lip color on, and got a nice even coverage with a lot of shine.  I love this color - it is so pretty.

The entire look consists of:

Face:
Make Up Forever HD Foundation - N115
Make Up Forever HD Finishing Powder
Mally Visible Skin Bronzer "Light"
MAC Mineralize Blush "Hand Finish"

Eyes
Bare Escentuals Ready 8.0 "The Star Treatment" pallet

Lips
Milani HD Advanced Lip Color "Candy Apple"

Happy Halloween to everyone!  I hope your evening is full of treats, and possible a few tricks!

FOTD Brown

FOTD w/ Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze, Fyrinnae Newcastle and Milani Lilly White

11:48 AM

I wanted to post a very quick post with another FOTD using the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze.  This time I paired it with Fyrinnae's Newcastle and Milani's Lilly White Baked Eyeshadow.  These paired so well together, especially the Bad to the Bronze and Newcastle.  The Maybelline really wears like iron and is such a gorgeous shade.  I saw some pictures of some Limited Edition fall colors in the Color Tattoo's, so those are now on my list of things "I need"...

Eyeliners

Spotted at Walgreens: New Milani Color Play Felt Eyeliners

11:30 AM

I spotted the new display for Milani's Color Play Felt Tip Liquid Pens, which I got an email about last week.  These can be used on eyes, face, or body, and come in a variety of bright shades including a bright pink and grey.  Interesting, for sure.  I'll be anxious to see what people thing of them.  These were at Walgreens, but will also be available on Milani's website.

FOTD Blue

FOTD: Fyrinnae Polar Bear, Arcane Magic Archmage and Arcane Magic Madame & Eve

10:57 AM

I think the weather has finally decided to break and it isn't going to be in the 100's+ anytime soon.  It's amazing, this weekend the high was 92 and it actually felt cool compared to the 105 we had the day prior.  I'm all for summer, but there comes a point when it's just too stifling to do anything, and we certainly were there last week.  I am happy to be able to get back outside and work in the yard, although after this heat wave, there isn't much to work on!

Anyway, another Fyrinnae look today - this time teals and gold.  Clearly the Arcane Magic shadows have been front of mind for me, as I am using two of them in this look.  Here is what I did:

Face:
Laura Geller Champagne Spackle
Laura Geller Balance 'n Brighten "Regular"
Milani Baked Blush in Corallina

Eyes:
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy - lightly patted all over lid
Fyrinnae Arcane Magic Madame & Eve - outer corner/crease
Fyrinnae Arcane Magic Archmage - middle of lid/patted onto Madame & Eve/lower lashline
Fyrinnae Polar Bear - inner corner, lower lashline blended into Archmage
Physician's Formula Gel Eyeliner - Black
Rimmel Wow Mascara - Black

Lips:
Laura Geller Marbled Lipstick in Brown Sugar

Happy Monday!  Here's to another, hopefully short (or short-feeling) week!

FOTD Blue

My 4th of July FOTD using Fyrinnae & Aromaleigh

10:30 AM

I seem to be on a bit of a Fyrinnae kick recently.  I guess after days of wearing little to no makeup due to the heat, I'm making up for last time and my need for a sparkle fix!

For the 4th of July I mixed it up with Fyrinnae (Arcane Magic Glitterboi), Aromaleigh (Tangled Tinsel & Elena Marguerite) and LA Splash Diamond Dust in Superb to create a relatively patriotic red, white/silver and blue look.  Here is what I used:

Face:
Laura Geller Champagne Spackle Primer
Laura Geller Balance 'n Brighten - Regular
Mally Bronzer
NARS Blush in Super Orgasm

Eyes:
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy - all over lid
LA Splash Diamond Dust - Superb - outer corner into crease
Fyrinnae Arcane Magic in Glitterboi - ontop of LA Splash on outer corner
Aromaleigh Elena Marguerite - middle of lid up into crease, blended into the blue
Aromaleigh Tangled Tinsel - crease and along lowerlashline
Milani Liquif'eye Eyeliner - Silver - lower lashline
Physicians Formula Gel Eyeliner in Black
Rimmel Extra Lash Wow Mascara - Black

Lips
Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter - Candy Apple

I hope you all have a nice weekend!

CVS

Spotted: New Milani Eyeliners and Shadow Eyez Eyeshadow Pencils

7:54 AM

The Milani display was reset at my hometown CVS, so I took some pictures of the new products on the display.  I hadn't seen the Milani Shadow Eyez Eyeshadow Pencils yet, but they look promising.  Similar to the NYX Jumbo Pencils, these came in a variety of shades.  These also promise 12 hours of wear, which might be interesting to test out.  The white and and champagne color might work well as a eyeshadow base/primer as well?

Closeups of the different colors below - feel free to click the pictures to enlarge.

I also saw three more shades of the Milani Liquif'eye eyeliners - a green, purple and blue.  I have the black and silver and love them, so next time Milani's on sale, these are going to be on my list!
