EOTD Pink

FOTD: Bright Pink & Springy w/ Fyrinnae Chaotic Evil and Sake & Sashimi

9:53 AM

Yesterday, it was 67 degrees here....today, snow with a low of 9.  I am so incredibly ready for spring, so I decided to play around with some bright pinks to brighten the mood.  Fyrinnae Chaotic Evil is a neon pink frost that I received a sample of a couple of months ago, but haven't had time to try out until now.  What an absolutely fun and bright color!  I paired that with Sake & Sashimi in my crease, and really like how the colors blended together.

Bare Escentuals

FOTD: Greens and Turqoise (and MAC Phloof & Dazzleglass Rags to Riches)

8:00 AM

The other morning, while putting on my makeup, I realized I haven't worn any color in a while, so I thought I'd play around with some greens and turquoises to add some *pop* to my look. Usually in the spring/summer I go over the top with really colorful eyeshadow, but not this year for some reason.

To create the look below, I dug around in my eyeshadows and found a few shades I had not touched in a while, including some Jesse's Girl eye dusts (which I absolutely love for the price), my Bare Escentuals Peacock Glimmer, and the dark brown eyeshadow Lucky Tom from the MAC Hello Kitty Lucky Tom palette. To finish off the look I used my new MAC Dazzleglass in Rags to Riches, which is a beautiful sheer baby pink with sparkles.

I have to say, I'm kind of partial to this look! I really like that it's relatively natural as far as colored eyeshadows go, but just adds a hint of turquoise and green to the eyelids so that it's not a boring look. I'll have to remember this one!

Jane Lipsticks from my Easter shopping

8:00 AM

Last week I showed you all my Easter goodies, and I finally got around to taking pictures of my lipsticks! When I came through Walgreens and they had the sale on Jane, I snagged 3 of their lipsticks - Aquaceuticals Laguna, Cotton Candy and Toasted Rose. The Easter Bunny also brought me a gorgeous Rimmel lipstick called Coffee Shimmer, which I love.

Laguna is a beautiful shrimp pink with shimmer
Cotton Candy is exactly as it sounds - a cotton candy pink - no shimmer
Toasted Rose is a warm rose color - no shimmer
Coffee Shimmer is a warm brown with champagne shimmer

Absolutely gorgeous colors and at a great price due to the sale. I can't wait to wear the Cotton Candy - what a pretty pink for spring.

Jane Aquaceuticals EyeStix Eyeliner Pencils

11:57 AM

I've been a little MIA recently because I have the dreaded cold that is running rampant through our office - yuck! Unfortunately it hit about Thursday and I'm still feeling the repercussions of it! Regardless, I figured some makeup would make me feel better, so I thought I'd post about the Jane Aquaceuticals I bought myself before Easter.

I found four colors left - black, bronze, taupe and wine - at my local Walgreens, so I bought them all up. They are pretty fat pencils, but the color payoff is great! There is a bit of a cooling sensation when applied, and they remind me of the old Maybelline eye pencils that had the same effect, only the Jane Aquaceuticals actually lasted and had better pigmentation.

The swatches are below - as you can see a few of the colors have a little bit of minuscule glitter to them, but it didn't irritate my eyes like some glittery eyeliners do. I love the color of the Deep Pearl, because I find it's hard to come across a good taupe eyeliner that doesn't pull and drag along your lashline when applied.

If you happen to come across these are your local Walgreens while they are being clearanced, I'd say for the $2, they are definitely worth it!

Jane Be Pure Mineral Blush "Satin Rose"

11:56 AM

While at Walgreens, I purchased another Jane Be Pure Mineral Blush. I absolutely love the colors, and this one is no exception!

I purchased "Satin Rose", a very pale, cool, rose color, with a hit of shimmer.

The swatch is below - again it is a very light color, so perfect for all year. It applies easily and blends seamlessly into the skin.

Jane Be Pure Swatches and FOTD

4:32 PM

I have swatched the eyeliners I purchased in yesterday's post. They are swatched in the following order:

Loreal HIP Cream Eyeliner "Teal"

Jane Be Pure Mineral Gel Eyeliner "Navy"

Jane Heavy Metal Liquid Eyeliner "Charcoal"

Prestige Cosmetics Liquid Glitter Eyeliner "Starlit Black"

Prestige Cosmetics Liquid Glitter Eyeliner "Green"

Jane Heavy Metal Liquid Eyeliner "Evening Brown"

I must be honest, when I initially took a look at the Jane Be Pure Mineral Blushes, I was worried as to how pigmented and pearlescent they would be, but I was pleasantly suprised when I opened up the package. The two colors I bought were "Sunbrushed" (top) and "Mink" (bottom). Both are absolutely beautiful! Sunbrushed is a nice bronze with a hint of pink, giving you a natural sun-kissed look without turning orange. Mink is a warm rose color with tons of frosty glow. It reminds me a little bit of Bare Escentuals All Over Face Color in "True", which is one of my absolutely favorites.

The swatches below are "Mink" (right) and "Sunbrushed" (left).

I did a quickey FOTD below using the Jane Be Pure Mineral Concealer "Light", Jane Be Pure Mineral Foundation in "Light/Medium", Jane Be Pure Mineral Blush "Mink", and Loreal HIP Cream Eyeliner "Teal". The foundation is really good for the price and the blushes are fantastic! I will do an indepth review of each of the Jane products soon!

Brushes

Brushes, Maybelline Fiery Sunset Trio, Jane Pure Mineral Gel Liner, and more...

8:08 AM

I went to Walgreens the other evening after work to see if they had the Jane Pure Mineral Gel liner that I read about on Christina's blog, and stumbled across a few other items that I needed!

First of all, when I was digging a long the bottom of the "new makeup" displays they have, I found some new brushes by Jane and one of the EcoTools that I've read everyone talk about. The two Jane brushes are to the left: smudging brush and eyeshadow brush. The brush to the right is the Eco Tools foundation brush. I didn't realize that Jane made brushes, but from what I can tell, they are great quality!

A few days ago, Vanessa mentioned on her blog about Sally Hansen Line Smoothing Airbrush Makeup. I bought the Creamy Natural color, for light to medium skin tones, so I will do a review of that later in the week after I have figured it out! Although I am a huge mineral makeup fan, I'm definitely excited to try it after I saw Vanessa's review.

While I was walking through Walgreens, I came across an end cap that had some new Maybelline makeup, including this gorgeous shadow trio called "Fiery Sunset". I was really drawn by the high lighter color at the bottom of the set, but the other two are beautiful too. I have done an EOTD and swatched the colors to show you soon. These are absolutely beautiful for those of you who love neutrals but want something a little brighter for the summer!

Last, what I actually went to Walgreens to buy - the Jane Be Pure Mineral Eyeliner in "Wine". I absolutely love the consistency and the pigmentation of the liner, so I will do a look with this later!
