ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip Color "London Fog"

ColourPop Cosmetics released their Ultra Satin Lip collection several weeks ago, and I picked up a couple of new shades, including this beautiful blue-toned red, called London Fog.  The texture on these is very light and not gloppy or sticky at all.  I really like semi-matte finish as well.  Not shiny like a gloss, and not completely dry/matte like the Ultra Matte Lippies.

Olive Smokey FOTD featuring CoverGirl's TruNaked Pallet in Goldens

As I posted yesterday, I am really enjoying this new CoverGirl TruNaked pallet in Goldens.  The colors are just beautiful together, and you can create extremely neutral, to beautiful smokey eyes.  

In this look I used the darker side of the pallet to create a smokey olive look.  In the crease I blended the dark brown (3rd from right) with the darkest shade (far-right).  On the lid I used the olive shimmer (4th from right) and also used this on my lower lashline.  To highlight I used the satin shade on the far left.  This color doesn't have much shimmer, but isn't a true matte.  This just brightened and lifted the eye.

Like I've said - a very versatile pallet at a great price!  I would love to hear what you think of these new colors from CoverGirl!

EOTD: Anatastasia Beverly Hills "Self Made" Pallet and Violet Voss "Chocolate Swirl" Glitter

The neutral shades in this Self Made pallet are just gorgeous.  Below I used the following, including some new glitter I picked up from Violet Voss, called "Chocolate Swirl".

Can I just say, that Secret Weapon Glitter Adhesive holds ALL DAY LONG?!  Love this, and have reinvigorated my love for glitter because I won't have fall out!

EOTD: ColourPop Cosmetics Super Shock Eyeshadow in So Quiche

ColourPop are my new found go-to eyeshadows.  I posted swatches of I *Heart* This  a couple of weeks ago, and today I am bringing you So Quiche.  This color is unbelievably complex, and unfortunately very difficult for me to capture in a picture.  The base is a rich taupe with golden olive undertones.  Depending on the light, you capture taupe, and then it shifts to olive and gold.  On top of that, there is this gorgeous multichrome glitter, which changes from pinks, purples, greens and golds.  On me, the purples really show up, which contrasts the golden/olives of the actual base of the shadow.  I absolutely love this color.  It creates the most beautiful smokey eye, works beautifully on my lower lashline to add depth to the look, and lasts all day.  Like the other ColourPop shadows, I used my finger to apply and blended out with a synthetic brush.

Swatches: ColourPop Cosmetics SuperShock Eyeshadow in I "Heart" This

Over Christmas I picked up some ColourPop cosmetics to give as gifts, and of course, had to try them out for myself to see what all of the hype was about. :)  If you haven't heard of ColourPop, please do a quick Google Search, YouTube Search, or Instagram #colourpop and filter down on the beauty bloggers.  You will immediately see that these are a becoming quite the sensation, and at $5 a pop (no pun intended), I can see why!

The first color I have to show you is called I "Heart" This, which is a pale, almost silvery taupe with iridescent glitter.  The texture of this is so creamy, smooth and gel-like.  I have been using my finger to apply, and let me just say, this is the easiest and most effortless application for a foil-like finish I have ever come across on any eyeshadow.  When you touch it, it's kind of *squishy*, and literally glides onto the lid.  Once set, it's set.  This sucker won't budge.

Every year my company has two Holiday sales meetings back to back - the first one is themed for Halloween and the second is themed for Christmas.  Last week was meeting #1, so I decided to go as a flapper.  After watching tutorials on YouTube of pin waves, I spent the morning getting my hair ready so I could do my makeup while it set.  

Most flapper or Roaring 20's type makeup I could find online looked to be smokey eyes and red lips, so I decided to take it up a notch with some glitter.  I used the same eyeshadow as earlier last week (here), but topped it off with Fyrinae's Pixie Epoxy and some glitter I had by Mary Kate and Ashley (remember when Walmart used to carry that?!).  The picture below doesn't do it justice!  This was a lot of fun to wear!

FOTD:Younique Pigments in Beautiful, Irresistable, Daring, and Angelic & Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara

As I have been recently obsessed with the Younique line, I wanted to play around with their matte pigments, as well as the metallics that I tend to lean towards.  I used all pigments on top of Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin, so there is a slight shimmer even to the mattes as a result.

To create the look I used the following:

UDPP in Sin all over lid
Younique Pigment in Beautiful - upper crease
Younique Pigment in Irresistable - deep in crease
Younique Pigment in Daring - outer corner, deep in crease / lower lashline
Younique Pigment in Confident - inner corner to middle of lid
Younique Pigment in Angelic - ontop of Confident on inner corner / highlight / lower lashline

I was pleasantly surprised as to how well the pigments worked on top of a "standard" primer.  I tend to lean towards those that are more sticky in consistency (i.e. Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy) when I am working with loose pigments, but this worked really well.

My First Review/Attempt at Younique Moodstruck 3D FIber Lashes - I Am Obsessed!

For several months I have been reading about the Younique brand, in particular their Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash mascara set.  I finally bit the bullet and signed up to be a presenter (a post about that to follow, including pictures of the kit you get).  Yesterday, when I got the presenter's kit, I immediately went to the Fiber Lashes and decided to play around with the set and see what the hype is about.  

Essentially, it's a three step process.  First, you apply a coat of your favorite mascara (I used Mally's Voluminous mascara, because I love how thick and black my lashes are, even with just one coat).  Second, once your mascara is dry, you apply a coat of the Moodstruck Transplanting Gel, which is essentially a black, sticky mascara that you apply prior to the fibers.  Third, while the Transplanting Gel is still wet, apply the black fibers.  Then, you're done!  If you want a more dramatic look, apply another round of gel and fibers!  I actually "sealed" my fibers with a light coat of the gel, just because I didn't know if they would fall out during the day.  They did not.  From the moment I put them on to the moment I washed my face last night, all of my lashes looked the same - rich, dark, thick, and amazingly long.  I am in love.  


Here is a snapshot of my full face, mascara and all.  Not only do my eyes look wide open (on about 4 hours of sleep), but they are a rich black, thick, and long.  I love this stuff.  Even if you wouldn't use it everyday (I will), using this for nights out or events, you won't be disappointed.  I can certainly see what all the hype is about!  One other bonus point - this is all natural and cruelty free.  Another MAJOR plus in my book!

Bare Escentuals

Fyrinnae is hands down one of my favorite lines of eyeshadows/pigments to wear.  Not only are the products an amazing quality, extremely pigmented, and of course gorgeous, but the color selection and complexity is outstanding!  Today I went for a smokey look using three Fyrinnae shades: Nijiro, an Aracane Magic in Evocation and Medieval Haunting from their Halloween '09 I believe.  All three of these colors are very complex, with color shifting and shimmer that isn't captured by the camera.

EOTD: Laura Geller's Spumoni/Sinful Praline Baked Eyeshadow and Essence Gel Eyeliner "London Baby"

Last week I posted some closeups and swatches of the essence Gel Eyeliners in London Baby and Berlin Rocks.  I have a soft spot for taupes, although I don't wear much of them.  Since I finally found a beautiful taupe gel eyeliner that actually looks taupe on, I thought I'd post an EOTD with it. 

The picture above is without mascara, just so you can see how the color glides on and actually looks like a rich taupe on the lashline.  Below, a snapshot with mascara.  It's dark enough of a color to add definition to the lashline, but it's not black.  Essence London Baby would be a great option for someone looking for an eyeliner with some color, but afraid to step away from the basics of black or brown.  And, at $3.49, it's easy on the wallet!

Rimmel Glam Eyes "Night Jewel" and EOTD: Rimmel Night Jewel, Milani Lilly White and Milani Silver Charm

Back at the beginning of the year, Rimmel put out some new displays for their Glam Eyes sets and singles.  There were eyeshadow quads and single shadows, like Night Jewel (shown above).  I'm typically pretty happy with Rimmel's products, although I have rarely used their eyeshadows, so I thought I'd give this smokey pewter color a whirl!

Night Jewel is a deep pewter with almost iridescent shimmer strewn throughout.  This is a very frosty-frost, and the pigmentation is quite nice as well.  There are two pictures below - one with a flash and one without.  I think you can see the various iridescent shimmer in them below, especially if you click to enlarge the photo.

I swatched this shadow without any primer, using the sponge applicator in the package.  Like I mentioned above, this is very pigmented.  The color is creamy and smooth, as well, not chalky at all, making blending and application a breeze. 


Seeing as this shade is a frosty pewter color, what better to do than a smokey look.  Something quick and simple below, using the Rimmel "Night Jewel", Milani's Baked Eyeshadow in "Lilly White" and "Silver Charm".

EOTD: Wet 'n Wild Pixie Palette "Night Elf"

Wet 'n Wild Pixie Palette in Night Elf is gorgeous, simple as that.  The taupe shade is beautiful and creamy.  The ivory color is the perfect highlight with hints of golden shimmer.  The Club dupe is beautiful, although I haven't played with it beyond swatching.  I was also very surprised at how nice the black is.  I usually steer clear of blacks because they end up being chalky and look like a toner cartridge exploded on you, but this one is very easily used, blended, and if you use a light hand, can be quite wearable every day.



Above I used the taupe on the inner corners, the black on the outer corners and the ivory as my highlight.  The eyeliner is just the black gel from the Physicians Formula trio I wrote about a while back.  Again, I used Mally's mascara.  This would be an easy smokey look for any type of evening event - the picture doesn't do the colors justice at all!

EOTD: Laura Geller Eye Dream of Italy #2

Yesterday I posted the Laura Geller Eye Dream of Italy #2 collection, so here is the EOTD to go along with it! As you can see, the colors blend very well together. They are a bit "pinkier" in in the picture than in reality, but I think that the pink/lavender is the color that reflects back when my camera uses the flash.

To create this look, I used first applied Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy all over the lid. As I mentioned yesterday, these eyeshadows are quite jam packed with shimmer, so this ensures the shadows are applied as such. (If you don't want to see all the shimmer, and just want a hint, don't use the Epoxy). Once it was tacky, I applied the light side of the Spumoni/Sinful Praline on the inner 3/4 of the lid. I then blended the darker side on the outer corner and up into the crease. As a highlight, I used the ivory side of the Rome/Milan baked eyeshadow from the first installment of the Eye Dream of Italy collection. I then lined my lashes with Lancome Starshower Artliner, which is such a beautiful dark graphite color. This eyeliner also reflects more of a silver due to the shimmer in it, but in real life, it is much darker, but not as harsh as a jet black liner.



Below is the whole face, including the foundation, blush, highlighter, and lipstick. This blush is a very beautiful, subtle color. It applies very smoothly, and if you add it in layers, can become a very deep berry color, if your skintone allows it. Obviously, since I'm fair, I only needed one or two sweeps of the brush and I had the natural *flushed* look. As for the highlight, it isn't overly shimmery. I know there are a lot of you out there who don't want shimmer or frost, so this is a great way to get a bit of a glow without looking like a disco ball.
The Dolce lipstick is such a gorgeous color. It is so natural, adds just a hint of color. For as light a formula as these marble lipsticks are, I have been very pleased with the lasting and moisturizing power. They don't bleed into the skin around your lips, they don't leave you with patchy colors, and they are very complimentary of a wide range of skintones.

I have quite a bit to catch up on next week, so this weekend will be dedicated to getting those posts up and running.
