Forever21

Forever 21 Introduces "Love & Beauty"

8:38 PM

Forever21, quite possibly my favorite place to buy accessories, has introduced a new line of their own beauty products, named Love & Beauty Cosmetics. From cosmetics to candles, there is something for you in a budget that anyone can afford.

I love that they have things available that are so "hot" right now, at a price that is easy on the wallet - think colored mascaras, purse friendly perfumes, bright lipglosses and matte nail polish - all from $2.80 (nail polish) to $7.80 (perfume). I am going to be going by the mall this weekend to check these out! What a perfect little gift basket for someone for Christmas, or even better yet, some stocking stuffers!

"Love Struck" Roll-on Fragrance, is a blend of Freesia, Tahitian Mango, Mandarin Orange and Exotic Sandlewood ($7.80). Other fragrances available: Adorable and Vanilla Joy.

Intuitive Matte Nail Lacquer in "Navy" ($2.80) - give your nails the new look with a matte finish. Colors available: Navy, Purple and Black.

Love & Beauty Mascara ($3.80) allows you to thicken and lengthen your lashes with a hint of color. This creamy formula leaves your lashes lush and supple. Applicator is a spiral brush. Other colors available: Jade, Purple, Black and Blue

Love & Beauty Lipgloss ($2.80) is a rich polish for your lips, giving them hints of color and shimmer. Wear them alone, or combine to create a unique shade just for you! Colors available: Light Rose, Fuchsia, Rose, Light Pink, Cherry, Coral, Dark Purple, and Light Brown.

I'll be anxious to give these a try and will definitely let you all know how they fare!

Clarisonic

Clarisonic Facial Cleansing System

7:38 PM

For my birthday, I decided to treat myself to the Clarisonic Facial Cleaning System. I have read so many articles and reviews, not to mention I have watched numerous airings of the Clarisonic on QVC, so after much deliberation over the price, I decided it was time!

Much in the say way that Sonicair has changed the way we look at brushing our teeth, Clarisonic has gone out and changed our whole philosophy on facial cleansing, and now body cleansing with the Clarisonic Face and Body Plus. The soft brush and sonic movement of the brush head gently massages the skin, while cleaning deep in the pores, loosening dirt, makeup, and oils while reducing the sizes of pores and appearance of wrinkles. What's even better? Using the Clarisonic removes up to 6 times the dirt, oil, and makeup than basic cleansing, allowing our moisturizers, serums, and skin care products to soak into the skin and have the opportunity to work! This is a waterproof devise, as well, so it can be used in the shower or bathtub without worries.

The item I ordered came with three replacement heads: Sensitive (white), delicate (blue), and normal (grey). I have been using the sensitive brush head, which is extremely soft and nonabrasive. I can speak from experience that rough clothes and exfoliants leave me red and irritated after use. These brushes do not!

One of the biggest things that persuaded me to purchase this was the image below (www.qvc.com), showing skin with makeup (top), and the difference between cleansing with the Clarisonic (bottom left) and superficial cleansing (bottom right). If you think of how many skincare products and much makeup we typically use on a daily basis, it's a bit disturbing to think of what is left behind when you think you have cleaned your face!

To really sum my thoughts on this product up, all I can say is WOW! Not only do I feel like my skin is clean, but when you use the Clarisonic it is such a relaxing facial massage you can't help but feel better once it's done. The micro-pulsations of the devise help get the blood flowing, exfoliate and clean. When I get out of the shower in the morning, my skin looks like it has been retextured and the puffiness under my eyes has been reduced because of the massaging action. I have been using the gentle cleanser that comes with the product, but I am anxious to try out Philsophy's Purity cleanser and/or Philosophy's Microdelivery Wash as I have heard nothing but rave reviews about the products being used together.

I wish I had some before and after pictures, but I couldn't really capture essence of what the Clarisonic has done. I can honestly say that my skin is prepared for it's serums and moisturizers after each use, and as a result, my skin looks so much better. It's amazing, the products actually have the opportunity to work! I would love to hear if you have tried this or not! If you haven't definitely put this on your holiday wish list - it is worth it!

Hard Candy

Hard Candy "High Maintenance" Baked Eyeshadow Duo and "Voodoo" Lash Tinsel

5:15 AM

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  It's hard to believe that it was basically 70 degrees here, and in the second week of November!  Believe me, no complaints - the weather was gorgeous, crystal clear skies, and we could have the windows open for a few days which was nice as well!

During my very hectic week last week, I snuck over to Walmart to take a peek at the Hard Candy display I have been eyeing.  I have already purchased the Mr. Wrong nailpolish, which is so cool, but wanted to try out some of their eyeshadows.  I decided on the Hard Candy Kal-eye-descope Baked Eyeshadow Duo in "High Maintenance" - you don't get much more neutral than this!  Just to pick up something extra fun, I also got the Lash Tinsel in "Voodoo".

High Maintenance is a gorgeous neutral duo.  The right is a very frosty champagne, and the left is a chocolate brown with champagne frost.  They work great together to create a simple 1, 2, 3 look.  The texture of each color is very creamy and smooth.  The pigmentation in this particular eyeshadow is excellent as well.  I was very pleased with this, and at around $2.50 an eyeshadow color (total shadow retails for $5), this is a great buy!

As I have established thus far in blogging, I love glitter, so I had to pick up one of their Lash Tinsels.  I decided with Voodoo, as I thought it would look really good with the Bad Gal Blue Benefit mascara I received for my birthday.  This is a royal blue meets purple color.  The glitter is extremely fine and the brush is very thin and stiff.  It is easy to apply to each of your lashes, as well as your lower lashes without smearing it along your eyeline as well.

I know several of you have purchased from the Hard Candy line - what has been your favorite item so far?  I saw their baked blushes, and I think that is going to be one of the next purchases I make when I wander over to the makeup aisle again!
