Lancome

Lancome Colour du Jour and Kitten Heel

8:07 AM

When I went Valentine's Day shopping for myself at the MAC Counter, I decided to hit up the Lancome counter as well because I had been wanting to try the blush Pink Pool.  This blush is a gorgeous pink with shimmer - a great color for summer.  When I was wandering around the counter, I found two eyeshadows I had to have, Colour du Jour and Kitten Heel.  With my purchase, I received a set of 5 Juicy Tubes - so pretty!

Below: Lancome Kitten Heel - shimmery golden/pink.

Below: Lancome Colour du Jour - shimmering plum with golden sparkles.

Below is a look I did using the purple from the MAC Tom Cat collection, and the two Lancome eyeshadows I purchased - they are so gorgeous.

MAC Stylin' (Hello Kitty Tom Cat Collection) - lid
Lancome Colour du Jour - crease
Lancome Kitten Heel - highlight

MAC Hello Kitty

7:57 AM

I know the Hello Kitty collection from MAC is somewhat "old news", but I love the colors so much I wanted to post some closeups of the colors I purchased as my Valentine's Day present to myself (and my mom and sister!).

Below, I purchased the Hello Kitty Eyeshadow x 4 "Lucky Tom" from the Mild collection and lipstick in "Most Popular" from the Wild collection.

I love the little Hello Kitty stamp on the lipstick!  Most Popular is a beautiful, warmer toned fuchsia color.

I fell in love with this eyeshadow quad - the colors are perfect for spring and the brown color (far right) is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for everyday neutrals.  The colors from right to left are:  Creme Royal, Paradisco, Stylin' and Lucky Tom.

Belo I did a quick look with all four colors, using the purple as a liner.  This color really helps make those green and hazel eyes pop!  I also used Yves St. Laurent Faux Clis #1 Mascara.

MAC Hello Kitty Kouture

7:36 AM

I don't know if you all got on board with MAC's Hello Kitty phenomenon, but I admit I broke down about a week or two ago and bought a bunch of the stuff - pics to follow. This morning I opened my email and found that there is now a Hello Kitty Kouture collection, with Swarovski "bedazzled" compacts and lip gloss tubes - gorgoeus! You can view the collection here.

Bare Escentuals

Bare Escentuals Liner Shadow Compact Quad III - Bon Bon, Brocade, Luxe, and Incense

8:54 AM

When I was at the Bare Escentuals boutique a few weeks ago I purchased the Bare Escentuals Eyeliner Shadow Compact Quad III, which comes with 4 great colors including Bon Bon, Brocade, Luxe and Incense. The compact is a convenient way of holding four liner shadows in their own self contained compartments and has a great liner brush.

As you can see, each liner has it's own little compartment that seals at the top. There are two wells that allow you to add your own mixing medium, or eyelining solution to liquefy the powder for easy application. I recommend the Bare Escentuals Weather Everything Liner sealer - this makes sure that whatever eyeshadow you are transforming into a liner doesn't budge! It comes in an easy bottle that has an eyedropper type tip, and a set of 3 little compartments that you mix your liners in - it reminds me of the little paint-by-numbers paints we used as a kid! Some of these colors are versatile enough that they can be used to create a smokey eyeshadow as well.

I have swatched the liners below: (From top left to bottom right) Bon Bon, Brocade, Incense, and Luxe.

If anyone is looking for an easy and affordable way to try the Bare Escentuals liners, this is definitely a great way to acquire a few different colors and try them out! I would definitely recommend this, and any of the other eyeliner sets they have out there - great colors and a great product!
