Review: Lash28 Eyelash Conditioner

8:57 AM

I recently had the opportunity to test out Lash28 Eyelash Conditioner.  This is an ALL NATURAL eyelash conditioner, that helps moisturize, strengthen, condition, promote healthy lash growth, and replace broken or sparse lashes.  Now, I'm not going to lie, I have always wanted to try a lash conditioner, but have been very skeptical as to the effectiveness of them.  Well, I'm happy to say that after 4 full weeks of use, I can definitely see the results, and I think you can too in the pictures below.

(Click the pictures for larger images)

I used the product every morning during my skincare routine.  I know that the instructions are to do this before bed, but I am usually to tired to do an extensive routine, so instead I chose the morning.  Before I put any moisturizers, serums or creams on, I applied the Lash28 to the lashline and allowed the product to soak in.  I then went through my normal routine of moisturizers and makeup.  The product itself is a nice consistency, semi-opaque white cream, that is applied with a brush-tip wand, similar to an eyeliner brush.  (I tried taking pictures, but of course my camera would not focus in the way I wanted...so I just gave up!   Let me know if you have any questions on application and I will do my best to explain.)

After 4 weeks, I have to say that the results speak for themselves.  Not only do the pictures above show longer, thicker and more plentiful lashes, I had fewer lashes fall out by the end of my testing period.  I am very pleased with the product, and would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in a product to help promote fuller and healthier lashes.

Please note (and this is very important!)...
-This is NOT tested on animals
-This is hormone free
-This is paraben free
-This is hypoallergenic

Again, stop by www.lash28.com and take a peak at all the details on the product.  It's worth the investment!

NOTD Purple

NOTD: Sally Hansen Salon Manicure "Problem Child"

8:00 AM

Purples are all the rage this fall, and Sally Hansen is right on top of the trends. If you are looking for a deep, dark, and intense egg plant purple color, Problem Child is absoultey gorgeous and can be found at your local drugstore or Ulta, which is where I bought mine.

Problem Child is almost a black purple, with almost burgundy, purple, and larger (but sparse) irridescent shimmer.  In the pictures below, the picture taken in the flash is a much truer representation of the color.  I did take a picture of the bottle in the sunlight, as well as the very last picture, so you can see all the complexity of the polish.  This is a stunner, especially if you are looking for something a little bit edgier for the fall...

Hard Candy

NOTD : Hard Candy "Mischief" Nailpolish

8:00 AM

The only Hard Candy polish (new or old!) I was able to find at Walmart last week was Mischief, which is quite perfect for Halloween!  This is a black jelly base full of orange glitter.  Although in the bottle, the base polish looked almost green and beyond it's prime, I had to have it....

...and boy am I glad I got it!  Now, the picture below is taken with two coats only!  I was sure this was going to be one of those layering types of polishes, but I was completely fooled until I took the brush out and it was full of sparkly goodness.  Look at how foiled my nails look!  I think the black-jelly base has something to do with it...all of the sparkles, be it if they are underneath or on top show through!  I love it!  Now, if I could only find the polish in Beetle...that's my next purchase!

Below is a closeup of the sparkles in the bottle - isn't it gorgeous?!

I have to admit, this blew my expectations away!  I have one of the older polishes that everyone loves, Mr. Wrong, and wear it all the time, but very rarely do I give the HC polishes a second glance when I'm in Walmart - after Mischief, that has changed!

Eyeliners

Hard Candy Haul - Mischief Nailpolish, Take Me Out Glitter Eye Liners "Money" & "Truffle", and 1000 Lashes Primer

1:55 PM

I finally found *some* of the new Hard Candy items at Walmart, although 99% of them were sold out, I grabbed a nail polish in Mischief, 1000 Lashes primer, and the two remaining Take Me Out Glitter liners that remained (Money and Truffle).  I am going to have to look at another one to find a couple other products to pick up, but for now, I am going to dive into the liners.

I was sold on the liners because of the packaging - the *stems* of the liners are covered in glitter.  I don't know about you, but when I am digging through my pencil eyeliners, I find it so difficult to find the particular pencil I am looking for.  With the Hard Candy Take Me Out liners, not only are they extremely long, but the stems are the actual color of the pencils, so they stand out perfectly!

Money is a beautiful mossy green with silver green sparkles.  Truffle is a gorgeous brown frost with brown and golden sparkles.  Both pencils are extremely smooth and creamy.  They apply very easily and are extremely simple to blend.  I am hoping that this has decent staying power as well.  We'll see since I'm going to test drive them this week...

These are actually quite pigmented, but my flash washed everything out.  Whoops!  I tried taking better pictures, but it didn't help.  Also, my swatches for the Nox Twilight Nailpolishes turned out to be trash, so I'm going to redo those and post them soon.  Sorry for the delay peeps!

Sephora

New! Sephora Collection Baked Moonshadow Trio

12:50 PM

I just got this in my email and thought I would share - Sephora Collections Baked Moonshadow Trios.  Do these look like another brand to you, too?  I may have to stop by my Sephora and see what these look like, and if the pigmentation is anywhere near MAC's.  They retail at $17 a piece, and there are six gorgeous trios to choose from.

What it does:

These super-smooth formulas deliver cosmic amounts of diamond dust shimmer. Each trio is composed of three harmonized shades that blend easily to create a perfect smoky eye with a super sparkly finish.

What else you need to know:

Used wet, each shade's payoff is intensified to give a bolder effect; the dark shade can be used as an eyeliner. Contains soothing green tea extract to deliver anti-oxidant properties.

I'd love to know if you've seen these, and what you think!

EOTD Blue

EOTD: Fyrinnae Otherwordly, Dragonskin, Dressed to Kill, & Sequin Master

9:42 AM

Just a quick and bright EOTD using Fyrinnea's Otherwordly (turquoise), Dressed to Kill (bright olive green), Dragonskin (dark olive green) and Sequined Master (lavender/pink).

I know that fall is here, which means I am usually wearing lots of golds, bronzes and coppers, but sometimes it's fun to play outside the box and dabble in a lot of color.   I had seen a picture of someone doing a pale rainbow look, so I thought I'd give it a try too.  It reminds me a lot of an Easter egg...

What I used:
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy - all over lid
Fyrinnae Otherworld - inner corner, lower lashline
Fyrinnae Dressed to Kill - outer corner and into crease
Fyrinnae Sequin Master - inner corner of crease
Fyrinnae Dragonskin - outer corner
Physicians Formula Gel eyeliner - black
Mally Volumizing Mascara - Black

Bare Escentuals

Bare Escentuals High Shine Eye Color - Swatches

8:46 AM

In a recent Ulta flyer, I saw these gorgeous Bare Escentuals High Shine eye colors, and was instantly intrigued!  So, after a quick trip to Ulta I swatched them so you all could see!

Let me just say, these are the creamiest, shiniest, frostiest colors I've seen from BE.  The colors almost look like foil, so these are not for the faint of heart.  The applicator is a little sponge, which typically I would say are worthless when it comes to application, but as you can see by the swatches below - one swipe did the trick!  The container holds the product well without spilling, but also has a large enough opening that you could use your favorite brush if you wanted.  The colors are gorgeous!

These retail at $16 a piece, and can be found on Ulta's website.

Nailpolish

NOTD: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Mystic Lilac"

7:17 AM

Mystic Lilac is a beautiful lavender-grey shade with beautiful iridescent glitter that is present *just enough* to give a slight shimmer in certain light.  From far away, it looks like cream lavender, but when you take a look up close you can really see the hints of shimmer.  I really like this color for something different - it really an up-to-date way to wear the "greige" shades that everyone is raving about this season.

(sunlight)

(natural light)

You can barely see the shimmer in the picture above.  Unfortunately, my camera was not cooperating enough to get a good picture of it - I'll try and get one for a later post.

(flash)

The above picture is the best representation of the color, in my opinion.  You can tell it is actually a lavender color, and not gray, and you can barely see the shimmer/sparkle.  Even better...I wore it for 5 days without a chip or scratch!  Not bad for $2.99!

I have about 4 more of these new colors from the Xtreme Wear collection to post, so keep checking back!  Also, I'll have the Nox Twilight Nailpolish to post, too!

Spotted: Nox Twilight Beauty Nail Polish

7:22 PM

Grocery shopping today at Meijer, and when I'm there I *must* stop by the makeup department - they always have something new and exciting, especially during the holidays.  Today was no exception!  On one of the end-caps with all the Fantasy Makers were two displays of Nox Twilight Beauty Nail Polish.
Now I've heard of Nox Twilight Beauty, but I wasn't aware it was available around me, so I was very excited to see these!  The polish retail at $6.99 a piece, and there were 12 colors to choose from.  Each bottle has a replica of the Cullen family crest.

"Nox Twilight nail polish is the newest edition of products from Twilight Beauty. Inspired by the powerful Cullen coven, this line of professional quality nail polish prominently features the enduring Cullen crest on the center of each bottle."

I picked up two:  Sangria (a deep blood red) and Wine & Dine (a pink microglitter).  I'll post swatches shortly!  Now if Meijer would carry the rest of the line!

Mally Beauty

Mally Volumizing Mascara

8:00 AM

Mally Roncal is the brains and beauty behind Mally Beauty, where she has taken her knowledge as a celebrity makeup artist and created products for everyone that will last all day and make you look your best.  Every time she's on QVC I watch her - she's so bubbly, passionate, and adorable!  I've been eyeing the Mally Volumizing Mascara on QVC for months,  and after reading numerous fantastic reviews I finally took the plunge.  Here's what makes this different:

"The combination of natural waxes and carefully-chosen powders gives lashes an instant boost. The plush combing brush works with the powders in the formula to help thicken lashes without clumping, giving you gorgeous volume that lasts and lasts."

The formula is very nice.  It is thick, but not gloppy.  The brush is quite substantial - it has tons of thick bristles that hold the mascara and help coat your lashes.  Also, the tip of the wand is fashioned so that you can use it to reach and coat individual lashes, especially those hard to reach ones on the inner corner and lower lashline.  Although this is a volumizing mascara, I found that it lengthens extremely well too.

Below is a "before" and "after" side by side.  I used two coats of Mally, no curling of the lashes or primer.  The color is a great rich black, and makes the lashes so thick and long.  She does have an eyelash curler that has won numerous consumer awards that I really have wanted to try - it has a patented design that eliminates pinching and pulled lashes.  I may have to treat myself to that...

Now that I've tried Mally's mascara, I'm pretty sure I'll be going back for more to try out other products.  Have you tried any of their cosmetics?  I'd love to hear what you thought!

CVS

Wet 'n Wild Dual Ended Eyeliner: Chill Out!

8:00 AM

Since I loved the Wet 'n Wild Dual Ended Eyeliners in Da Bomb! and Rock On! I was happy to come across the deep evergreen shade called Chill Out! at CVS last week.  I have a lot of olive eyeliners, but really not one true evergreen shade to speak of, so this was happily added to my collection at $3.99.  The pencil is smooth and creamy just like the other two, and the glitter liner is iridescent/clear glitter.

Again, I swatched the pencil alone (left), glitter liner alone (middle) and the pencil with glitter on top (right).  This would be really pretty for the holidays with all the glitters, reds and greens!

So...now that these have been out in the market - have any of you tried them?  Thoughts?

Justin Bieber and Nicole by O.P.I. - What an unlikely pair!

8:00 AM

An interesting combination, for sure, but definitely a way to score the hearts of teenie-boppers and grown ups alike!   I don't have the names, but am working on that.  There's definitely some potential.

These will be available where Nicole by OPI is sold.

Hard Candy

New Hard Candy for Walmart coming soon!

1:47 PM

Yesterday the lovely Recessionista from Nouveau Cheap posted about some new Hard Candy items coming to Walmart at the end of October in lieu of the upcoming holiday season.  I have to say, I was so excited, I decided to do some digging for pictures myself.  Luckily, I stumbled upon them on Makeup Alley (thanks xspookykittyx!), so I thought I'd share them with you guys as well!  There are lots of goodies, but I will say I'm very excited for the new nail polish shades, and the Hide & Glow Cheeks...Enjoy!

If any one else has heard of products coming, we'd love to hear!
